Engine swap ?
I'll prob-lee get flamed for this bc of it being a truck motor, and asking this ?, but is there any reason an 2001 LQ4 won't fit in a V1? I know its iron, and it's lower compression, but is there any reason it won't bolt in. Then if it would bolt in, couldn't you use the LS6 top end and a custom cam and have a pretty stout set up?

Well, mainly bc I have one, and bc I thought that LS2s and 3s have a different crankshaft ring for the crank sensor to read. I don't know for sure about the latter, or if there is a simple fix to it either.

Thanks all for the replies. Didn't know if they would be any problems. I had heard that iron truck blocks didn't have all the accessory bolt holes like alm. car blocks have.

Thanks for the reply. So drilling and tapping one bolt hole should be the only non bolt on? The LS6 top end should be a direct bolt on too, I hope.
