Had a broken ds forward header bolt stuck in the head so I decided to rebuild the top end. Just posting for kicks, and showing what a 100K ls6 looks like. No damage anywhere but if I'm here why not do it right.

New valve springs
New valve seals
New ARP studs for the heads
Cometic triple layer head gaskets
Etc
Some painting and cleaning here and there. Enjoy.

This is something I am looking into while everything is apart. To those looking to do this in the future I would say this is a relatively simple job, just be patient and take your time with the details. Will post more picks as parts come in and the machine shop gets my heads back (being decked, and broken bolt removed).

I've followed the thread for a while, and to be honest it motivated me to get this done. I was going to wait for what we in Florida call winter when it gets down to 65 or so, but your thread go me moving haha.

Edit: Wonderful when your arp's get stolen in transit and you get an empty box from summit.

Just a fuel line, Oil change, coolant flush and tb away from being done. I love seeing the finish line, maybe it's time to build that LS7.

Nice. Mine's still in pieces. I drug my feet with deliberation before I ordered my parts... then made the mistake of ordering from GMPartsdirect. Their processing and shipping is slowwwwww.

Just checked my order status and still says "On Order" with no tracking numbers available.
... I placed my order Monday and today is Saturday.

If I don't get my parts next week I'm going to be a little pissed.

I got lucky and summit, advance and my buddys shop had all the parts I needed. The only thing I'm waiting for is the pressure side fuel line that goes accross the manifold that my impatience broke. Just buttoned everything else up with the exception of coolant.

HA, nice. A 427 would be sick in these things.

I'm just gonna use a dremel to knock the castings smooth. From what I hear and have seen in how-to's it's well worth the time spent... and considering I could be waiting longer I'll certainly have plenty of that (time).
