Default Heads/Cam/Intake/TB Build Check List

Ok, Tony Mamo has been working with me on a killer combo for my '04 LS6 V. I want to make sure I have all the parts I'll need, and I need your help to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Some parts are on their way already, but heads just got done by Tony, so that and the cam are on their way as well.

So far what I have coming:

215 "Mamofied" AFR Heads upgraded 8019 springs w/ 2.055 valves
Yella Terra 6645 1.7 ratio Rockers
Custom ground cam 227/231, 114 LSA
Fast 102 Intake "Mamofied"
NW 102 TB
Fast 36 lb injectors
LS2 Timing Chain
Cometic Head gaskets 4.160 Bore .040
Torrington bearing behind Cam Gear

Things I have already:
Timing chain gasket
Header Gaskets
ARP Head Studs 234-4317

Things I'll need:

LS6 to LS2 TB adapter:
http://www.hinsonsupercars.com/p-934...r-harness.aspx

LS2 Fuel Rail......right?
Mamo says I won't need adapters for the injectors, but will the LS6 fuel rail not work with the Fast 102? Is it just not tall enough or what?

Oil Pump......which one?

Probably going with:
5/16 Manton pushrods (custom length...have to measure first)
Not sure which lifters yet.

Should I get:
25% Underdrive Pulley? Or get a 10% Or stick with stock?
http://sdparts.com/details/powerbond...s/kpbu1117ss25

New manifold bolts? I've reused my old one many times over.

Can I reuse the stock intake manifold port gaskets, or does the Fast Intake come with them?

What else am I missing?

Dam, nice heads!... jealous..
Sorry if I missed something.
Using 4.160" bore gasket on a 3.9" bore block (ls6)? quench ?

Unless something has changed, from what I remember, there are no gaskets that come with the FAST intake, unless you added it to the purchase. You can reuse the current, IF none are pinched. They sometimes rip easy pulling them out.

Nice list, can't wait to see what it'll put out.
Btw, all those high dollar items and you're going with a stock timing chain?
Why not a C5R chain or something stronger than stock?

The LS2/3 rail has more of an arc, has the correct lateral spacing and works perfect.

The LS2/3 rail does require that the injector length be the same as stock LS2 injectors...longer ones will need the rails spaced and shorter ones (LS7-style) will need adapters between the injectors and the manifold.

Use a ported LS6 pump (new) with a Katech spring spacer or a Melling 10295 with the optional spring.

An ATI #917278 (10% UD) is the premium piece. Whichever one you decide on, use an ARP crank bolt and pin the damper.

If you're talking about the exhaust, it's time for new GM bolts.

Unless they've changed, the FAST LSXr 102 comes with all needed gaskets and hardware.

At least two semi-sober derelict friends to critique the operation and a couple of six packs of Yuengling Black & Tan - for post swap festivities only, not for consumption with work in progress.

I'd go Melling 10296 the high volume pump, stick with the ls2 chain. My guess as far as dyno numbers go id say 475-480rwhp.

LS2 timing chain is what I'm going with

Thank you Sir!

Good Lord for $450 for the 10% UD pulley, how much HP should it net? The 25% Power bond is only $220 and comes with the belt and bolt.

Or should I just say F it, and stick with stock?

I'm thinking Melling as well......and I am thinking 480 too, but hoping for 500. My 9" rear end will prob rob a little bit.

Am I missing any random gaskets??

If you end up needing intake manifold gaskets Advance has the whole set for $22 I think. Comes with the little foam pads. Maybe a new throttle body seal and may as well swap the valve cover seals if they're still original. ARP stud lube?

My concern was not with an HP gain, but with bottom end durability (4" crank arm), damper unit reliability (the ATI is modular and rebuildable) and the fact that it's a keyed unit.

Way back when, on another car (Corvette), I tried the dramatic underdrive setup that was in vogue at the time and found that both the cooling and charging systems were adversely affected.

The LS7 (wet-sump conversion) in my Camaro has a (new) GM CTS-V/Y-car damper, but it's both pinned and has the ARP bolt. If I ever have it off for any reason, I'll replace it with an ATI.

Hey Lolly
Nice build going there. I have something similar except a smaller cam. Watch the duty cycle on the injectors with setups like ours. I had to go to 42lb. green tops. Perhaps the 36's will get the job done.

These better work! Thanks for the heads up man! How much power are you putting down HP and TQ? What size cam?
