Default Maggie Heat Exchaneger replacement Price

So I punctured my HEX when trying to install a new alradco radiator.. frustrating to say the least. So I called magnuson expecting a replacement to cost no more than $300. Well turns out a replacement is $900. does this sound right? This heat exchnager is so smaller and simple could it really be that pricey?

Search the CF. I don't recall which one either but a guy put one in. It won't bolt in but its bigger and better with little modification necessary.

Just take it to a radiator or welding shop and have it fixed should not be a big deal

Or the easiest way is to use needle nose pliers and crimp the bad area and pour JB weld all around. I did that to a very expensive radiator I put a hole in. Its held for a year so far and thats with some pressure. The rad shop could only crimp the bad row.

I bet someone could tig that easy enough or silver solder especially since it is new and not contaminated with antifreeze.

I got the idea from some drifter buddies that do this all the time. The things you do to to save a $500 radiator. This has held for a year so far and not a weep (knock on wood). No change in water temps either...
Just google aluminum radiator repair and this is very common.
