I would HIGHLY doubt it. the spline count is only one small part of the geometry, shaft size, how far into the diff housing the shaft goes...

Then even if the CV fits in i doubt the diff is the same width as stock necessitating different length shocks.

Update:

I have been approached by a great guy on here that has a spare cradle, CTSV diff, two 8.8s and a complete shop.

So, we are going to do our best to start building a few of these.

We are only missing some stock axles, so if anyone has some broken axles they could throw our way, just let me know.

No promises, no guarantees, but we hope to make it happen!

When you say broken what do you mean? I have a few axles with no CV's on them, and a few CV's that aren't 100% snapped, but were popping when I took them off. No boots.

Thanks guys!

We have a FULL set of stock axles with hubs now.

We also now have a few more housings now.

Now if I can just get some time off to go pick up the steel plate and DOM, we might be in business.

Holy ****.

The "other guy" (lol) did some testing tonight and comparing stock axles from ford and Cadillac, so we are seeing some progress.

Unfortunately that doesn't work. The 8.8 is wider than the stock V housing, so the stock V axle inner stubs are too short to fully seat inside the 8.8 carrier. Plus the 8.8 uses a wider axle seal. It's pretty clear in the picture below, V axle on left 8.8 axle on right. You might be able to rig something up using 28 spline cobra or mkiii inner stubs, and the stock V shafts and outers... But I think that will be a lot of work for a stock strength axle. I'm giving my stock axles to 54" and if he wants to try it, more power to him. I have the G-Force full 1000hp axles, the expensive ones, so I'm trying to get by with just replacing the 28 spline inner stub with a 31 spline. Fingers crossed it works.

The other guy would be me, I had to take care of some personal issues and fell off Tech for about 6 months, but now I have some time and a little $$ to focus my attention on the car again.
Speaking of progress, parts pic!

With any luck I'll have my brackets made this weekend. On my brackets I plan on adding a 4th mounting point, from the bottom of the rear diff bracket to the outside rear of the cradle, the piece of the cradle closest to the spare tire well. Which will hopefully act like a reverse torque arm. This would require welding to the cradle, some people might not like that, but isn't an issue for me.
Crappy photoshop of the idea, thanks to 98cobra for the pic.
