Intake manifold or cold air intake?

GM really screwed the pooch on the LS2 intake. While it has a larger 90mm throttle body and snout (compared to the LS6 78mm) it flows absolutely horrible. Any possible gains that you would potentially see from the larger throttle body would be completely negated (actually would cost you some at higher RPM's) by the poor design and flow of the LS2 intake.

Either have TPIS epoxy a 90mm snout to your LS6 intake, or save up and get a FAST.

^^ I second that.
And you could buy the FAST 92 and sell your LS6 for almost the same as the TPIS option.
In that case the FAST is the better option.

Thanks fellas.. You gave me the info I need.. I dont trust cutting and using epoxy to make the intake work like TPIS does. Something about that whole process just doesnt make me feel right and I probably wouldnt be able to sleep at night knowing epoxy is holng my TB to my intake manifold lol.. Looks like I am going with a FAST 92mm.. At least i can then use the 90mm TB with no issues.

What are your current mods? Liek I said in the otehr thread, a fast is an absolute waste of money on a stock heads/cam car.

why is everyone hating on the graft? I dont plan on having tpis do it and instead lingenfelter but it can be done for 350. so for 350$ I have an ls6 intake with a 90mm TB? Seems alot cheaper then going the 1k+ route with a fast. With port matching an ls6 the gains from a fast are not as impressive. While there will still be more hp with a fast im trying to be budget friendly here and save 600+$ to go somewhere else in a build.

Also, I like that the ls6 with a 90mm graft looks stock where a fast you would have to paint and sand down the fast logo. IMHO

I do remember seeing on on corvette forum and if I remember right a stock motor there was not much difference and the ls2 may have caused a loss...? but with a modded motor the ls2 was very restrictive in comparison. But no I do not have the comparison. I will look to find it again though!

For anyone that might be making longer term mod plans, I have an expertly ported LS2 intake manifold that I will be selling after I install a TVS2300 next year. It's been completely reworked and flows significantly better than stock.

I stand corrected. An unported ls2 does not out flow the 6. Ported can. However and ls6 with the 90mm conversion and a ported ls2 flow similar. But if you are like me and already had an ls6 it makes more sense to have the 90 mm conversion rather than having to buy an ls2 intake fuel rails and then have it ported. So....

Just my liking. I think the fast intake does not look nice under the hood. And what am I spending 1k on? The intake? Cause it would not take that to make the fast intake look stock. A lot of guys paint their fast intakes so I know I'm not the only one.

Even though I'm considered a full bolt on car with Heads/Cam/Exhaust, yadda yadda, I wouldn't drop the $1k on a Fast because the numbers it increases just aren't worth the money. For $1000, I feel I could find at least 5 different ways to gain the same amount of power for a quarter of the cost.

If you want a LS2 intake without throttle . . . I have one.

I might require you buy me a coffee or a box of K-cups - Kona or Caribou

I think that manifold and some of the parts are kickin'around here in a big box.
Since, you are in Norhern NJ - you are in driving distance.
I'm west of Newton
