I have a 2004 CTS V with the LS6. Question: Will an LSA (Camaro SS, 08 and up CTS V) clutch work in my older CTS V? I have one that's new(clutch, PP, and flywheel) that was taken off a crate motor and would like to use it if possible. If it would fit, which slave cylinder would need to be used or would it need to be shimmed? Thanks in advance.

The thing is, the LSA and the LS9 both use 8 bolt flywheels and the LS6 uses a 6 bolt flywheel. That is where Katech and Ligenfelter come in. They make aluminum flywheels that allow the twin disk clutches to be used in 6 bolt cars.
So yes an LSA/9 clutch can work. You need a six bolt flywheel that mates to the smaller diameter twin disk clutch pack, and you use your stock slave with no shims. However, you should always measure to verify.

Sorry, LS9 uses a 9 bolt. The LSA uses an 8 bolt. The LS6 is a 6 bolt.
So both the LSA and the LS9 are lone odd ***** respectively.

OK, mine is an 8 bolt LSA clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. It won't fit my LS6 so I went and got an LS7 kit for mine. Anyone need an LSA kit? Even comes with new flywheel bolts and pilot bearing. All GM parts....
