Default CTSV with LS3

I was tuning yesterday on the dyno and at the end of the day threw the CTS-V on there. Here is graph with no smoothing. Not to bad for a daily driver. Averaged 24mpg on way home!

didnt want a cam......how many LS3's have you dyno'ed? I bought a crate engine for a 2012 camaro, have obx headers with cats and stock mufflers and cai. OBX headers and k&n cai arent alot of mods. I dont have any high dollar parts or even full exhaust. Its right inline with all the other ls3's in new camaro's with same mods I have tuned.

The stock LS3 engine has 376 cubic-inch displacement. Most people have the engine block machined to 408-427 CID, resulting in an engine that can produce nearly 550 RWHP with heads and a cam.

lol I guess you're lame if you settle for a bolt-on 6.2L in your daily driver around here!

Not with just headers and cai! I hope your really not trying to brag about 450hp, lol.

MN_V, in hindsight, I'd have put a stock block with a baby cam and reused my heads when I broke my ls6. Saved time, money, and headaches. Minytrker wants a ballsy ride, something without violent vibrations or unreliability... His 9 second camaro is for that. My man just needs a smooth daily driver that makes some power.

I guess so, guess everyone got ls7 daily drivers lol. I think it's a fun daily driver for a 4 door car. It gets great gas mileage and is pretty quick for the few mods it has. And the engine is under warranty!

Strokers are pretty popular for the V section. I've got an lq9 408 (1 of like 3 over here), a few 418 ls3's, and a 383 or so. I understand where fuzzy is coming from (he goes ***** deep into his planning and detail-oriented research), but I get that this isn't your race car - a facet a lot of people around here have trouble getting.

I bought the car without a motor, bought a used ls3 that lasted 175 miles few days before I was having surgery so I bought new crate engine ls3 and went with it. Was on time crunch. I probably still have less money in the car total with new ls3, clutch, built trans, g force axles and newer rear that what most paid for stock ctsv.

The 9 second tag is a joke, I race 1/8th mile and they had the 1/4 mile clocks on. I cut my car off at 1/8 mile, I coasted through 1/4 at mid to low 9's around 100mph. Re-doing camaro this year, shooting for 4's this time.

I would love to do a LS3 sometime. I, for one, like the idea of more cubes, more power, same LS platform, without having to get nutso with the mods. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the LS3 end up costing you?
