Default solid axle auto and motor build

so just sat down with my builder tonight and went over the build list and got everything coming or getting ordered for my rear end build. as i plan on 1/4 mi the crap outta this car i decided the irs just wasnt gunna cut it especially with the rubber bands for tires ya gotta run with these cars. so heres what i decided to go with instead

front and rear custom double adjustable ridetec coilovers
custom driveshaft
custom aluminum fuel cell
all brackets, link bars, and joints for fabricated 4 link
custom narrowed and strapped 9"
wilwood smaller rear break kit
15x10 billet specialties
new mickey thompson 315/55/15
342 gears to go with that tire
custom tubs

axle to be ordered once housing shows up to measure on car and decide how much to narrow it.

along with this rearend ive got my 408 being built by the same builder. motor should be done and delivered by next week and will have further specs on it then but the basics are

iron block 6.0
wiseco 4.030 pistons -8cc valve reliefs with upgraded wrist pins
eagle H beam rods
callies comp star crank
clivete bearings
arp main and heads studs along with arp 2000 hardware
ported 243's with larger stainless valves
ls9 head gaskets
holley efi hi ram
nw102
custom nitrous cam 257/268 .621/.621 114+4
nitrous outlet spray bars for up to a 500 shot
umi motor mounts and custom adapter plates for iron block

rossler 4l80e
pro torquer 3400
moroso deep pan
treebraker ross lock trans brake
lokar dipstick
tci flexplate
b&m ratchet shifter

holy crap so ive probably forgotten all kinds of stuff. but thats just off the top of my head. sorry there arent any pictures yet but there will be some coming here in the next couple weeks, at least for the motor, rearend will probably be a month out or so. hope this combo can get me closer to the 9's then not. if ive missed something or didnt explain lemme know ill be glad to elaborate.

Have you considered an 8.8 or 9 inch instead? 12 bolts are heavy and arent as strong as 9". You can also pick up 8.8s for next to nothing and get all the parts you could ever want for them.

Also 28" tires with 3.42s might be a little weak for a nitrous/na car.

What compression will the motor be? And are you gonna do a standalone fuel cell for the spray?

ya considered both the 9 and the 8.8. 9's are plenty strong but rob tons of power. 8.8's are decently strong but usually strong under lighter cars. not sayin only lighter cars(gt500) just sayin that with 4k on top of it my builder would rather not use it. the weight of the 12 bolt is minimal. yes they are heavy but that can be over come. all in all the 12 is easily available (any junkyard) and have a range of aftermarket parts a mile long.

tire size is approximate could turn out to be a 29" or even down to a 27". the tires can be exchanged at any given time just shooting for the middle and seeing where its gunna land the car then make adjustments accordingly

motor is 12:1 gunna be on e85 and with the 200 shot i will not be doin standalone. if i go any bigger i will from there. only plan on runnin n2o for a few months before the pistons are changed out and switch to turbo build.

I gotcha sounds good, see if the builder will switch out the Eagle rods for Callies compstars. I am using wiseco coated pistons in my engine build right now.

I looked at some gearing calculators for my car tonight and in 4th gear with 3.73s and 28" tire and 6800rpms you can go 152mph with 355s. It ups it to 159.5mph. Not knocking you gear choice but it seems a little low to me

Be careful with that clutch selection. Especially with drag strip duty. I'd look into a strapless design. I exploded two of them with just my 418 stroker, no nitrous.

Damn already have the clutch on the current motor with only about 400 miles. Guess it to late to do anything now. Guess we shall see what happens thanks though.

Car going in to the shop in a week or two. Should have pics up as soon as things get moving on the solid axle, fuel cell and system, and motor swap.

Alright well I'm kick starting this again. Car is at the fab shop now. Have got every thing out of it only stock parts left are the body all of the interior minus the seats and the front suspension. Everything else is siytin to the side. I'll be back in town to check it out in a week or so and get some picture of it to post up. Also a fee things have changed. Instead of six speed I'm.going auto and we are putting a 395/50/15 in the rear. Also got rid of the tnt nitrous and the fast 102. Going with the Holley hi ram with spray bars for a much larger shot. Do that also means got a new cam spec'd. And finally we decided to go with a 9 inch
