Default Maggie guys with slip issues: check this

If ur having slip issues or stretching belts like me then here's the
Fix. I was having slip issues with my IW balancer and 2.6 upper but
This belt solved it all. No more stretch or slip.. Verified by my boost
Gauge. I've got about 5k on it and took it off to take a measurement
Same as the day I put it on! My gatorback had stretched over 3 inches

that's a 101.5 in belt right? I'm running a gates fleet runner micro V green back belt which has a great reputation. is this much different?

yes 101.5...its a Gates Racing belt. it has metal strands weaved in and a stickier compound. rated at 300x better wear resistance than a reg belt.

I picked mine up on eBay for 68 bucks. Retail I think is like 130. It's deff worth the money as I've gone thru a ton of belts in the last few years

I must not be exercising my maggie enough as my Gatorbacks usually go a few years. Still, I just may get one of these AND give my maggie a little work out.

Interesting. Too bad I just replaced mine a couple months ago with the "regular" gates belt. No stretch on it so far though.

So those are alot of nice specs to tout as improvements. What are the downsides to this belt? There has to be some compromise somewhere (other than high cost). Is it noisier that stock? Does it fail the same way? Will it wear out pulley bearings faster? Any insight?

I'll probably buy one for my next belt whenever that happens if there are no real negative attributes to having it. Nice find.

I'm going to install my 2.6 now, didn't you also change your idler pulley to a v2?

its just a stronger belt with a better contact patch and compound..no noise what so ever. every other belt ive had has screached above 5k rpms(slip) this on has 5k miles on her and no screaching or slip.its deff worth the money!

yes i did..i used a v2 acc idler pulley. i have a spare if u need one. i used it mainly because it has bigger ribs on the outter edge to help keep the belt on the pulley..its also a 1/2 inch bigger in diameter for better belt wrap.

I put in "Gates Racing Belt" and got 754 hits, so I then put in "Gates Racing Belt 101.5" and got zero hits.

Got a link?

Do you have any pics of the V2 acc idler pulley?

I can still use this belt if I have a bigger upper pulley right? I still have the pulley that came with the maggie.
