Right now I have just under $28k total invested in my 07 including the car itself I bought in November...
SEEMS LIKE A NO BRAINER IMHO....

That is the reason I stopped investing in my V1. I bought mine in May of 2010 and dropped over 10 grand in the car. The V2 was 42k, and I have put 400 bucks into it and have 120 whp more then I did in the V1. The difference between the two, are more then gadgets for the interior. The platform is just better engineered than the V1 was. My V1 was so god damn fickle sometimes (granted, the guy above me is having better luck with his drive line then I did, haha).
30k car + 10-12k in mods + 4k is loss of reliability = 44-46k 355/365 13 second car.
42k car + 400 in mods + warrarty = 42.5k 476/470 12 second car.
Seems like the numbers are more favorable for V2.

Therefore if you spend the time, a decent 07 can be had for $20k
$10-12k in mods will get you in the 10sec club unless you are a fool.
now you have another $8-10k left over for "warranty", or to get in the 9's
Your real warranty just stops you from having any fun with the car for fear of voiding it, **** a warranty IMHO...
as far as the platform and chasis, I dont know much about the engineering improvements, maybe others can chime in, but I do know its quite a bit heavier, this isnt a car that I will be competing on roadcoarses with, why would you in a 4000lb car, so I am not to concerned with the improvements...

i love the V2s but i dont feel near as bad moding my V1 as i would a V2.
plus its fun seeing the look one ppls faces when they get beat/ or just hear the little unassuming V1
every one assumes that V2s are fast

If you want a V2 because its sexy and is nicer overall... Go for it... I'd do it if I had the money... But if you want it just because of the blown 6.2... Then LMAO ...

B_ROCKS_IT definitely keeps me going on wanting to keep investing in the V1.
I just have no experience with turbo charging, lol.
Right now I am still looking at making the V1 faster but I am going through the drive train first.
Hey B_Rocks_IT, what have you done to to the rear end of the car to handle that horsepower?

This, the mix of brutality and civility in the V1 is just awesome. V2's are nice, but the ones I have driven just aren't as exciting to drive. That and the first time you take someone for a ride in a V1 and slam some gears you scare the living bajesus out of them haha.

IMO definitely dont go procharger, I feel like the centrifugal supercharges are the worst of both worlds, if your gonna go the SC route do a roots type that gives you near full boost instant.
Parysitic power loss and waiting for boost to build makes no sense to me at all, unless you are truly making a roadcourse car and want the linear powerband.
Overall though, I dont think theres any comparison to the efficiency and bonuses of turbo's. Thats why you see all the cars that come with SC's being swapped to TT's by company's like Hennessy, Linginfeltor and Nelson ( V2's, Zr1's, Ford GT's etc.)

Prochargers, in my opinion, are much easier to package and build than a turbo set up as well.
I know a guy local to me that just put down 915/835 out of his 370ci Vette with an F1A.
You can also buy a damn near complete kit with an F1A for the V1 for around $7k.

Not a good statement here. First, positive displacement SC's have a much lower ceiling than all other forms of forced induction, unless you opt for a crazy expensive whipple/KB and have the skills to fab it.

My twin turbo setup was right around $7k, installed... but my builder is the **** so thats unobtanium for some people.

I am gonna end up like this person:

Although I may change my mind and take Mr. Vette with me.

So ya, I guess for most people procharges may be the cheapest way to go boosted, but my point was that I dont think they are ideal in any way. I think you can get a maggy for $8k, as I said, id go turbo but if that wasnt a choice I'd spend the extra 1000 and get a maggy.
