BINGO!!!!!!!!

You hot the nail on the head. I got home and pulled the the valve covers and found a broken exhaust valve spring on cylinder 3. I am ordering a new set from texas speed tonight.

Looks like your spring held up better than mine. I dropped a valve into the first cylinder and the engine is currently being replaced with ~25k mile LS6. Yeah those will work (Factory springs) but why not upgrade to a dual spring just in case and/or if you decide to put a bigger cam in it down the road. Glad I could help.
