Its not worth the money or time with the prices of Vs dropping. With that said, be the first. You are going to need to know how to do some wiring. Good Luck.

I would straight axle it and slap a carb on that LS6 if it was me.

V's are going for something like $10k...

Not worth it, then sell the motor and trans you swap out and sell it, even cheaper!

I think the engine cradle is different. I might be wrong.

Find a V with a blown motor. Much easier than all the extras. Engine cradle, brakes, suspension, sideskirts, wheels, grille, no V on the title so even worse resale value..

I am having serious deja vu. Didn't we have this same discussion about a month ago?

OP, put your motor in something that actually has room under the hood!

Unless that T56 is out of a V it won't work without a different driveshaft and custom shifter setup. The V has a longer bell housing. Even with the longer bell housing the V has a remote shifter that hangs another 8" off the back of the trans. So with an F-body trans, your gonna have to make a ridiculous remote shifter and a custom cross member for it. The front subframe is also different. As it the suspension, brakes, hubs, wheels, front bumper cover, side skirts, rear bumper cover, inner fender wells on the front and all the plastic under the front and I'm sure a bunch of other little stuff if you wanted it to be a true clone.

Vs are $10k yet... But I wouldn't buy a base CTS and put a V8 in it. There is hardly any room in it when GM did it. Along with all the trans issues you have to redo the engine cradle. If you decide to do it, then just drop a ford 8.8 in there. A solid axle setup would be a waste really, you can get the same performance and reliability from a ford 9 or 8.8 independent rear. I'd drop that LS6 in a cheap little car like a fiero or something... And do wheelies everywhere.

IIRC you can change the tail housings out and it would work fine.

Take a look here to get some idea of the level of effort required.

They're really not even the same car other than the body shell.

I have yet to see a running V for 10k in my neighborhood. Even the roughest V's are still commanding 14-15k
