AAIIIC, is that compressor the source of your undiagnosed tick tick tick noise ?

No, the dead compressor has been dead for a while now, I just hadn't gotten around to replacing it. The ticking noise is something that started during the track event.

Edit: Got the new compressor installed this evening.

Just had a factory ford traction lok in it with 750hp lol the 2nd 3rd dead hook shift killed it. The spider gear assembly sounds like rocks in a metal bucket.

Yes everything was setup properly, I'm a auto tech. It's just a old carrier with too much power behind it and some free spirited driving.

So with the Caddy at the body guys place, I’ve been bored and playing with the R1. So you guys will just have to get over me posting my bike on the V page lol I don’t really get on r1forum much anymore.

I shortened my race baffled stock cans 3” and I think it cleans the back of the bike up a lot. I also ordered but haven’t installed some black and silver billet chain adjusters, titanium sprocket nuts for the rear, a titanium axle nut, and the thing I’m most excited about, a flash tune ECU based quick shifter. My ECU is at Superbike Unlimited getting reflashed for the quick shifter and to raise my idle up a little. Should have it back this week and I’ll get to hear what she sounds like with the shorter cans.

Last pic is before and after.

OEM refresh done on the front suspension with Sach shocks, Sachs bumpstops and dust cover. Mevotech front upper control arms. Moog sway bar end links and sway bar bushings. Much tighter and responsive.

Replaced the foglights with the clear ones and added the clear side markers. Both sides are done and look great! Now I need to get the headlights cleaned and emblems replaced and the car will no longer look so faded and tired.

Changed oil and oil filter. Yay. 93k miles.

That filter stack looks like it needs a scoop. Pretty rad, though.

Those are awesome. I always thought that color rim would look amazing on the Stealth Gray V.

Been neglecting the car and its ticking engine after the tiny progress I made a couple/few weeks ago. Yesterday I finally received the Blackstone Labs oil sample bottles I ordered, so I drained the oil tonight and will send off a sample tomorrow. To the naked eye the oil didn't look bad. [I've killed engines before and seen the pretty golden swirls in the oil that came out; I didn't see any of that tonight.] We'll see what Blackstone has to say. In the meantime, I'm taking Thu & Fri off, which will hopefully give me some time to do some more actual work on the engine.

If you decide to just pull the heads, it's really not a bad job at all. Good Luck!

Added a new and badass tool to my toolbox.

A Rupes Bigfoot mk1.

So far it's a dream to use and light-years ahead of hand polishing.

Its quite easy on the upper body compared to my previous machine, which was a no brand name China model from O'Riley .

I'd recommend one to anyone looking to get into paint correction and bling.

Results are fantastic!

Used the yellow Rupes fine pads, white ultra fine pads (and matching Rupes compound) and finished with Mother's California gold synthetic wax.
