Or maybe the larger 1 7/8" transfers heat more effectively to the exhaust system. I am unsure of the cause, but I am sure of the effect. No complaints though, the gmpp exhaust sounds amazing and is still quite mellow compared to the previous setup.
We'll see how the Cerakote on my cats does hopefully in the not-too-distant future.
I haven't put a ton of miles on the car yet, probably only 50 or so, but the Cerakote on the cats is fine thus far.

Maybe it's just my setup then. It's still looking pretty on the headers, just the cats burned off.

My previous set still looks good, so I'm guessing the kooks cats run hotter.

Changed the oil. Nothing overly fancy, but went with Havoline pro DS 5w30.

Getting ready to finally get my box with the O2 sensors and get them installed so all I have left is that intake tube I've been waiting on.

Hahahaha true it's never ending sometimes, but it's the last performance mod I'm doing. I'm waiting to final tune it and Dyno it, as the ls7 maf will require changes.

I still want to change the wheels and do some interior stuff/head unit swap.

Finally had some time to sit down. And reattach the badges on the car.

I deviated from the stock locations, but I dig them where they are a little better now.

Also fixed my broken windshield sprayer line with some shrink wrap.

That’s one of the first things I did was move the badges. I thought it was weird just placed randomly on fender and lined it up with the molding. Also move the rear emblems to match the 3rd gen V. LOL

Snugged up my annoying sunroof rattle.

And got my seatbelt pretensioner on the driver's side changed. I was pleasantly surprised to note that a tech 2 isn't required.

I took a diy video that I'm rendering at the moment to hopefully walk someone through it should they have the same issues.

It can as far as I know only be diagnosed via a tech 2 or scanner capable of reading the class 2 databus.

Striped out the interior of the trunk/rear seat and installed some noise suppression material.

It's not actually intended for the purpose I used it, but it seems to work well. It's basically a rubber tape that protects against erosion on rotor wing blades, but the side effect is a quieter blade operation.

It's not ideal, but the goal was to stop the panels from vibrating so much and to reduce the bass drum effect of the spare tire well. It accomplished the goal.

Took it downtown for a road test and lunch at Denny's.

Hey man, I am pretty sure I have seen this car on Rt. 50 in Chantilly. It looks great. If not there is someone else around here with a black V just like yours. Do you have Louisiana tags by chance?

Question for everyone- when do you all recommend changing the spark plugs/wires? My car is about to hit 46k and as far as I know it has original plugs/wires. Doesn't have any driveability/starting issues whatsoever, so if its too early I won't waste the money. I know I replaced the plugs/wires in my Camaro 3 years ago when it had around 27k miles or so and I felt like it was a lot of work for nothing lol.

I drive a Black V1 to and from work on 50 everyday! Yours is literally the only other one I've seen around here.

i bought plugs and wires before I realized they were iridium from oem. So I put them on a shelf until I did headers around 54k. I think I originally intended to do it at 50k.

Got my catch can installed. Came out perfect, with just enough space for the removal of the body.

Attended the Umm Al Quain Drive and meet even also. This was the V and Cadillac section.
