Default Lingenfelter Pedals Installed

Scored a very good deal on these many many months ago from someone and then they just sat in a box in my garage.
Since then another engineer at work retired and I'm basically doing two jobs, so this and all my other V projects got put on hold, just too tired.

Couple days ago a had a few hours to spare, so I said this is the simplest of all my projects lets do it.
A few drill bits later I'm loving the results look and feel wise.
Not a huge fan of the Lingenfelter logo there, I preferer a clean look myself, but it was a good deal and I can always paint that logo black so I left it for now.
Obviously car is much easier to heel toe now and the aluminum pedals have a nice grippy texture, they are well made for sure.

Well......shucks. The wrap reacted with the paint and now the repair process just got longer.

I contacted the place that installed the wrap, and they warrantied the damage, and offered me a very nice price on a full and complete repaint of the car, so it's now on its way back to Dubai.

I'm actually more amused than angry , but now I'm getting a far better result than I expected.

Mk1 is a stand up company, and I am super impressed with their service.

I told the neighbors it was Urban Camo 🤣

All dropped off. I'll post updates whenever they come. I'm not expecting anything for a few weeks.

Default Changed Knock Sensor and Wire Harness

Took me about an hour to do. Changed the aftermarket Dorman knock sensors and harness bc I was getting a P0332 and P0327 code. Replaced harness and put the GM factory ones back in bc it wasn’t giving me issues before my engine build. Taped down the harness and shaved some of the ribs off the bottom of intake manifold. So far so good after 10 min. Will give an update after a long drive I have tomorrow. Hope this works!!!!

I can't tell you how many times I have replaced an aftermarket part with an OEM part and fixed a problem.

Replaced my AC Belt a week ago, managed to do it without removing the fan shroud, radiator or any hoses out of the way.
Wrote a how to about it if anyone is looking for pointers on how to do so, since I didn't find any info on how to do it other than the factory manual way.

I finished my Luk LS7 clutch swap a couple of weeks ago including a new Centric master. The initial bleed with the Motive Power Bleeder worked well to prime the system.

A quick test drive left me worried. The pedal felt good, but the engagement was low - right on the floor. I bled it again with the power bleeder, and let it sit a couple of days. Then I manually bled it and let it sit a couple more days.

I didn't think I made any progress, but when I hopped in on Saturday, it was flawless. The engagement is just right. It shifts well. It goes into reverse (as well as any V does).

This setup is perfect. My dual mass flywheel was trashed. It shook the whole car. It shook so badly at 80 mph that I thought the crank was going to snap. I'm so much happier with the car!

I also installed the cheapest eBay headers I could at the same time as the clutch. I used a new set of GM gaskets and the bolts that came with the headers. I had to bash them to clear the steering linkage. I'll have to check for rub marks. I have between 1/8 and 3/16 clearance but I think it might be rubbing on RH corners.

The driver's side O2 sensor fit as is and the passenger side needed an extension.

The quality and fit was otherwise pretty good. Certainly not to the same level as Kooks, but for $300 they are great.

I'm not sure how well I got them to seal up. My connection to the catback is janky right now. I used butt clamps to get my by until I can get out to a buddy's place and TIG the flanges on to the pipes.

Last year I removed the factory sub and connected a few different sub setups to the sub output of the Bose amp. I settled on a pair of Alpine Type R 12s but was really disappointed with the response above 40 Hz. I disconnected the noise cancelling mic wire from the Bose amp last weekend and that changed everything!

I was quickly reminded that the rear package tray was a rattle trap, so I have started doing a bunch of sound deadening. I have Noico buytl and foam products from Amazon. The plastic piece that holds the factory sub, rear integration module and trunk light was a major culprit. The trunk is up next!

- One of the rubber "ears" broke off my ignition cylinder a couple years ago. I've kept the little nub around ever since, and finally got around to super gluing it back in place.

Tadaaaa!!!

- Dragged the summer wheels/tires out of the basement and put those on the car, then washed the OEM wheels w/winter tires and stashed those in the basement.

Yes, the car is filthy, and yes, both bumper covers are in dire need of repainting.

Found an old image I took when I went down to Florida for another car Convention. Here is the V on the road course when we were all done for the day.

A little sneak peek of the paint work. I pick it up Thursday, then off to the interior shop for new leather. Then back up to Dubai for a ceramic coating after the cure time is complete on the new paint.

The color is Aston Martin China Grey. The wheels really pop now.

She is home.

Heading for new leather tomorrow or Sunday.

2 more weeks, then back up to dubai for the coating and a proper photo shoot.

Had to do the most American thing possible and take a cruise to Denny's in Abu Dhabi.

So a Grand Slam paint job and a Grand Slam for a meal? win-win! The color looks even better in natural sunlight.

Got the other bits to the LS7 clutch kit.

Have to agree with Kra86, looks so much better in the sunlight.

As for Denny's...if you were an American tourist I would say shame on you, but as an expatriate...I guess you are allowed to feel homesick every once in a while no harm in that
It's like one day I was walking the streets of Istanbul with my wife, the other way in comes a big Chinese tourist group a dozen or so people, they walked past us and took left right into a Chinese restaurant! Me and my wife looked back with surprise...like they just didn't. Didn't understand the point of coming to a different country.

Finally got some time to tear apart the rear panels to lock down the KW coil overs that worked themselves loose. I couldn’t find tension nuts locally, so we’ll see how long that locktite/lockwasher/double nut combo works. Lol

I also replaced a leaking valve cover gasket that was allowing oil to drip onto my headers - smoke galore. The felpro gaskets were a perfect fit. I didn’t have to fight excess material and try to shove it in like I’ve experienced in the past with LS engines; nor did they feel like they’re were stretched to fit the groove.

Finally got the footage edited from the unveiling of the new paint work.

I used a dji osmo pocket 2, and I'm super impressed with it overall. Halfway through I switched to a hero 8 I use for B roll footage.

Goes in tomorrow for new interior work.

I finally have all the pieces for my LS7 clutch swap and will be doing the rear subframe bushings and diff bushing at the same time. Now I just have to find the time to drop everything. New DWS06+ went on a couple weeks ago which was a very nice change from the 8 year old Nokian all weathers that were on it when I bought it.
