Unfortunately no. I purchased $700 worth of extra boots out of my pocket and they are all gone.

You and me both! So far I've done the revshift tranny mount insert and while it did improved the slop in shifting, I know this short shifter kit will further enhance it.

Yes. After this, I'll be doing mounts and bushings. Hopefully after that everything will be nice and tight.

Any tricks to the install after getting the shift **** off? Looks like there's just a surround on the base that holds the boot on.

You have to pull GENTLY to remove the silver ring around the bezel. I used a small pair of needle nose pliers to squeeze the arms together then a small screwdriver to push them the rest of the way through. Then just pry up the flaps that are glued around the bezel. Getting it out was easy. Getting the new one to sit perfectly was not so easy.

It took 4 hands and several tries to get it just right. If you plan to glue the tabs back down (which you should) do it after everything is back together.

don't break the tabs on the trim, i broke mine and had to rebuild them with 2 part epozy and paperclips. pull from the rear of the boot.

My glue is drying now. Binder clips and goop is perfect. I also used needle nose pliers to pinch the clips. Bring it inside and let the plastic get warm too if it's cold out. It's GM standard quality plastic. Flexibility of a fortune cookie. I'll edit with a pic when it's dry enough to put back in the car.

Was dusky when I put it back in the car. Flash made it look weird. I'll try another time in daylight.

Edit:
Here we go

Thanks tho! Is really nice. I don't know how the stock one can be real leather and be so hideous.

What are you guys using to secure the new boot to the shift ****? It's not built the same as the stock leather and the clip can't compress the fabric enough. I tapped it down with a hammer after pulling the fabric as tight as I could but the clips can't engage. I threw the original rubber ring around it but not sure if it will hold longterm.

Here's a shot I took while taking the original apart. I did not originally remove the 'clip' part but just slipped the o-ring off after peeling the leather apart. The clip you see on top there serves to hold the o-ring on which the original boot is wrapped around and glued upon itself. I later removed the clip using a pick tool. A needle nose was just rounding them off and I was afraid of breaking them.

My guess is it will hold together as that clip is quite snug against the unfortunately short stalk of the shifter ****. Here's how she looks for now...

At this point I am not going to glue down the tabs in case I need to mess with it. Once the aluminum surround is reinstalled it is very snug and I don't see it pulling back up.

and +1 for the mini binder clips...

Yup, it's the TWM Dessert Eagle. I hated spending $150 on a shift ****, but have loved it since the moment it arrived in the mail.

I cheated. The 54 inches short shifter (or whatever it's being called these days) has a threaded stalk which allows you to adjust where you want the boot to sit.

MN_V: if you look at my pic above I have a rubber grommet I use as finishing trim. You could put it under the boot and hike it up. It fits on my modded stock shifter pretty snug but could grip even tighter with a zip tie. It's a generic "GM oil dipstick grommet" I found at autozone.

On other cars I've also pulled the boot up and put a zip tie on the shifter and wrapped it in electrical tape

.

I had one of these on my 04 V and loved it, the TWM pieces are truly worth the money even if they hurt the wallet. That thing weighs about a pound and a half by itself, makes a huge difference in shifting.
