Default Console squeaking? I fixed mine - pics!

I found my console making squeaking sounds. OCD kicked in a little and decided to fix it. So I examined the parts that were disturbing my quiet driving experience. I snatched a can of FlexSeal from Home Depot and began:

I removed the components that gave unwanted noise and prepped them for spraying the FlexSeal.

I added 2 coats of the FlexSeal and let it cure for 24 hours.

The results...no noise, no squeaking, no rattles. The application was 100% success. No unwanted smells, or dripping of the seal from excessive heat etc. It worked and totally satisfied.

Hope this helps others, Thanks!

One thing comes to mind when viewing your last two posts...you have entirely too much free time. Have the wife squeeze out a couple kids so everyone's on the same page. You're making the rest of us look bad.

Other than that, great work!

Nice. I took those off and covered the inside with duct tape cause I had it on my work bench and then I shoved some wadded up paper towels in there to give some compression on the parts once installed and it seems to have worked ok.... On a cold start it definitely used to rattle and **** me off.

I used hunks of 1" foam cut into circles and compressed inside the outer caps, instead of paper towels, but same idea.
