Default 295 35 18's fit on stock wheels with stock suspension and ride height. No spacers PSA

Got a deal on them, needed drag radials so.....figured why not! I shall let the pictures speak for themselves. Will report back if any rubbing. Of course, they won't see street driving so....take the info with a grain of salt.

First run I had 20 psi in there and kind of blew them off. Second run had 17 with some more success. I'm thinking 16 is going to be the sweet spot for them.

Definitely not. I mean, you can tell the bulge of the tire is not optimal. And while under full pressure may drive fine, turns would make me nervous.

But again, I put them on at the track, and took them off before leaving the track.

I think I did good! They put me in the class above what I should have been but I didn't care, it's just for fun.

But I only had two races. One was a c6z with a cam and I beat him by a car. And the second was a c7z and he beat me by about 1.5 cars. In all I was pumped. Tires hooked ok and I mean, I'm happy where I stood in the races I had.

Looks much better from the back with the wider rubber. Love to see those on a 10.5 inch rim width.

Thanks for the pics...

No time slips. They do the 1/8th mile down pit road and no tree. Just a hand drop

That's all you can really ask for. Congrats man, looks killer with the extra meat. We built our engines somewhat similarly. My compression is built for boost later, so I'm handicapped on the overall HP. I haven't put it on the dyno, hoping for around the same as you. Fingers crossed as always on these cars haha.

Deff do not drive the street with those.. The *** end os going to get loose as a goose in any turn.. Plus youll kill the tires in no time.

I just dropped of two of my spare vogue 20's to have widened to 9.5 I had 275/35/20 nt05's on it and while they hooked from a roll, anything low speed would make the car hop worst than ever.. Even with all the bushings etc. i put some 255's on it and half the violent hop was gone so keep in mind that even though you got a wider tire on the car.. The tire is actually balooned to where you have less of a foot print than a 255 on the same wheel

If you try and stiffen the springs it might help stop the bouncing.

This is simply not true. The side wall may be ballooned but the tread surface will not be changed.

Also, I think you may be confused as to what causes wheel hop. While I do not contest that it will change from tire to tire wheel hop is due to loading and unloading a weak system in sorts. Allowing the wheel to misalign and grab then lose traction. And repeat. The system is the cause for hop. Not the tires, this why not all cars have it, and can change tires completely and be uneffected.

Also, my car doesn't hop. Like ever. Only in wet. It didn't hop at all with these tires at the track.

actually, he's right. especially with you trying to run it at such a lower tire pressure. you'd have been better off getting a sticker 255-265 instead of just going for girth.

your contact patch is less than ideal because the tires are squished onto a wheel that's too small. it will show as wear in the same way that under inflation will. the outsides will wear much faster. you're taking the meat of the tire completely out of the equation by running a tire that's too wide for the wheel.

to make wider tires your friend you first need wider wheels.

Also, squishing them into the wheel would make the center of the tread bulge out technically.

While the tire will obviously perform better with the proper width wheel you're dramatizing the tire patch loss. And while it may wear similar to under inflated, when the tire flexes to grip it will put a full patch on the ground. When I get home I will go set them to 12psi and do a burnout patch as proof if you like.

And I'm running a 275 40 on the street, am I to assume that is overly ballooned as well causing contact patch loss?

i'd think a 275 is the biggest i'd want to go on an 8.5" wheel, but i'm also going to run a 275 on a 10" wheel. massive traction has never been my game.

can you heat that 295 up enough to even get the traction out of it that you'd want?
