Lowering CTS-V with cut stock springs - results and review

You can't really go wrong either way but like I told you and so others know how I feel if somebody gave me a set of H&R springs I wouldn't install them. IMO buy those springs and flip them online and make $100. Not saying they won't work as well and the H&R isn't a good spring, I just don't have anything to ask for. I drove a 05V with H&R briefly (3 miles) and it was ok but I think I like my setup as good or better. The owner of that car complained that they were a little bouncy, which I confirmed. He didn't have MM spacers in the back though, which reduces it.

Yeah, thats me alright!
I talked to my Vs previous owner....he said the suspension was not modded as far as he knows.
I need to figure out if it's been trimmed....can't go blindly cutting coils ending up in the weeds.
I looked to see if it had some MM spacers...I pulled the carpet things back off in the trunk, but I couldn't even find the upper shock mount....lol, wtf, where is it?

Once the side covers in the trunk are off, the shock mounts are right up against the seat-back.
You should be able to tell if you have cut springs or not by pulling a front wheel off and checking the spring ends. They'll probably have some sharp edges if they've been cut.
Aftermarket springs usually have some powdercoat finish that isn't matte black like the factory springs.
H&Rs are a dark glossy blue and have some H&R lettering on them.

do not do this
your v has an indepenadant rear suspension that will not align properly and 70 sollatlr alignment will not even check rear wheel alignment your car will look like a vw bug in back.

Bringing back from the dead.
I just did this mod and I don’t know why I never did it. Still feels the same but looks 70% better. Would look 100% if lower but I didn’t want to go that low. Thanks OP for posting this a long time ago.

How much?
So I realize there is about 1% chance of getting a reply to a thread this old, but: do you have the measurement of how much you removed? Yours is exactly what I’m after, just looking for info. Thanks!
