Default handling

With all those mods have you done anything to the suspension?
I just picked up my V yesterday and at speeds over 110 the car feels SCARY!
I was afraid to push it too hard into turns. The car drifts or rolls, I never felt anyhting like that in my C32 at speeds over 130/140. I have the sport shocks option. Would sway bars help? Any other suggestions?

Bert,

Get to a dealer immediately. The V is positively stable at 150+. I was scared by how uneventful the car felt at that speed. It gives one a false sense of security. If your V wanders or feels unstable you have other problems unrelated to design.

Let us know,

I second that. Its kind of a shame how uneventful the car feels going at *significant* speeds. Solid as a rock. Only thing it could use is about 10 more mpg and a supercharger

Cool

Funny as that is - I used to drive my C32 AMG at 150+ without any hesitation or nervousness like I felt the other day. And I used to whip my Supra Turbo like a bat out of hell - Never had any problem pushing either one of those cars. THe Benz did have coil-overs & sway bars, though...
All kidding aside, though, how does your car handle at those speeds?
Or haven't you had it above 75 yet - *****....

This car does 75mph?! Holy doodoo!

I've only pushed past 135mph and it felt good. Car seems fairly stable, but I'm still recovering from an off that ended with collision on the circuit. It's keeping my ***** from swelling too much, but I do have confidence in the car more and more as I drive it.

I came from a much smaller car and when I first got the V, I was nervous about its handling at speed. It's so much taller and you don't sit -in- the seat like you do with other cars. That may be the reason why your car feels so much different. Or maybe you really need to have it check out.

I've had my V for about three months now and as I learn it more, I'll be tempted to brave more. I'll keep you posted.

I appreciate the tips and I hear what you are saying.
Maybe I just need to get used the car.
Someone else said it could have been the road - but I don't think so - I don't think there is anything wrong with the car - I jsut think it doesn't handle as well as my Supra did (thing felt like it was glued to the street) Or my AMG which, only after the suspension mods did it handle oh so well!
I'll keep you posted.
Holy DooDoo - That was funny!

Bert,

I will tell you this. The runflats with a few miles (5,000+) will make the car "spooky" on the road at high speed and positively impossible to drive in the rain. I ditched mine in favor of some GSD3's and never looked back. With old runflats my V tended to "follow" the road. Not fun at 150+. The GSD3's are a blast in any condition including standing water.

Others to consider:

Michelin Pilot Sport
Bridgestone S-03
Toyo T1-S/T1-R
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx

Hope you get your V sorted out.

It's actually a better ride, but I guess it depends on which tires you get.
