Ls6 intake/exhaust/tune help

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I guys I got myself a 04 ctsv with volant intake, diablosport, and magnaflow exhaust.....oh an a b&m short shifter. After installing the exhaust my rpms started dancing abit, with an occasional bog (low sounding noise bc the rpms dropped to like 600 or so). This is the first thing i have a question about...whats wrong about that? or is it normal. It was installed about 50 miles ago.

Second I wanted to know what you guys think of the diablosport. Should I reprogram my car with it after the install of the exhaust for any reason? Should I pay to have diablosport custom tune it...(how much more could they possibly squeeze out??) or should I ditch it and get another different tune? My only fear is loosing an important feature, and reason i got the diablosport, is the ease of making it stock again just by plugging it in at my house.

Third, after installing my Bm shifter it sounds fine and dandy until i put the shiftknob back on. Then all sorts of noises are being amplified ABOVE THE SOUND OF MY MAGNAFLOws. I am clueless what to do here, as it sounds fine with the **** off?????? Also, I am hearing lots of exhaust noise coming through the shift **** area...is this normal?

Thank you all for your help. I will also post it in the cts-v section, just to get more input. If anyone lives near gainesville, I will drive to you if youd like to take a look at my car, meaning diagnose it, or maybe help me fix it. Ill buy us some beer and pizza or something???? Might be lame, and out of question but I figured I ask LOL. Just need to get my car fixed so I can comfortably race again ....If you fix it ill let u maybe drive it too

Seemed like you got good advice from the caddy board. Do you try any of it out?

They offer some inmput, but nothing has solved anything. They tend to beat around the bush more often then answer the question .

To solve the noise problem with the B&M shifter, install the UUC bushings and the noise will go away. RPM fluctuation probably caused by air leak after the MAF, check the Volant tubing. Are you getting any CEL's?

Why did you install an LS6 intake and who told you that you needed it? How much did they charge you and what did you do with the old intake?

I think I tried to help you months ago,on the other board, when you bought your car....and you jumped in my **** for that. That is, if you have the same screen name.

Hope you can figure out your problem(s).

....and your car has an LS6 intake manifold, stock. Has an LS6 as well, just incase. With LS6 heads.

what are you all talking about? LOL. I know my car has an ls6. Why are you asking me why I bought an aftermarket intake for an ls6??? It is made for the CTS-V by Volant. Still have my rpms going up and down.

yeah, it does sound like you installed a ls6 intake manifold.

But, the rpm hunting around could very well be that tune. Is that one of those diablo generic tunes? Try to see if you can get them to make you a custom tune OR have a custom tune that works, and download that into the handheld.

IF not, the intake seal idea is your only solution unless you forgot to plug something back in or un-did a vacuum hose or something in the process.
