Default Cadillac Certified Warranty

How much did you pay?

Dealership tells me it's $2495 and my local dealer tells me $1000.

$1500 to get it "Caddy Certified"...at least that's what I was told. The $2495 warranty sounds like the typical GM Extended warranty.

As for the Caddy Certified warranty, remember it starts from the original "Date of Service".

This is coming from a Cadillac dealer. So the 5 year is from 2005 or when the vehicle was purchased? Isn't that the standard warranty....just getting more miles?

The price of the warrenty should be included in the price of the car. What I think I am seeing is the dealer is tacking extra to the price of their car, right? If that is the case back that off and find out what a gmpp would be.

I asked for the Certified Warranty and they told me $2495 extra. But! They came down and included it in the price. :right:

I believe I paid 1200 to get the Certified Caddi - 6yrs, 100k miles from intitial date. They tached it onto the price of the car in my case. I argued with them for hours about it but they told me no one included it in with the price of the car because it is an option with the purchase (basically another way for them to get higher comission)...ultimately i wanted the car and the warranty, so i gave in; but i stole one of their pens...kidding....

Some dealers have it built in to the price already( NOT MANY ) and the rest charge from 1000 to 3000. I just bought a 2006 CTS SPORT for my wife on tuesday and have been reasearching this for about 4-5 weeks. Talked to at least 5 dealers and had them all tell me a different price on the Certified amount figure. From what i was told by a long time friend that has worked for a Cadi dealer for over 20 years was NOT to buy it on the 3.6 motor as thy have very ,very few problems with that motor or trans.2 years and 30,000 miles left on the original fact warranty.

I've purchased 3 Cadillacs and purchased the Certified Cadillac Warranty. In each case it was $1000. Hope it helps.

You buy from a Cadillac dealer? If so I would call Cadillac personally and ask them to intervene. After all you're wanting to give them more money.

They might be quoting you the GM extended warranty which is a lot more $$.

I think you still have options. Call your local dealer and ask. You can always go with an aftermarket company too.

I would Cadillac personally and talk to them about it. I'm sure dealers have the right to charge what they want but with a little "Buyer" persuasion you might get some help from them.

Well so far so good. No problems yet and I have been driving this V hard. The only repair (that i know of) that has been done to the V was the bushings in the shifting linkage was replaced at 81k miles. It had 87k miles on it when I bought it and I am now close to 90k.
