Going from a 40 roll should last a while as long as the power comes on softly and your not dumping the clutch. Try a progressive n20 kit or a centri SC instead of the maggie.

So then Im right there is no in between solution from stock to madmans setup?

Already went the nitrous route on my Z71, gets old, and bottles dont last on big shots. If anything Ill throw a turbo on it if I dont got he maggie route, I may check with a friend a magnuson and see if the TVS1900 is going to be available for the V any time soon.

On a side note stupid caddyforums wont let me register since I use my hotmail account for my regular email. When I click on the link to send the admin a message it doesnt come up with an email address I can copy and paste into an email to let them know that I dont have an ISP email.

I just picked up my V monday, I was quoted about 425-450 to the rear wheels and I see around 23-26mpg on the freeway 2k rpms and 73miles per hour. You can't beat that with a stick.

Emailing the admins won't help you anyway. That sucks, that is by far the greatest collection of information for CTS-V's.

So it seems like the modded ones are getting better mpg than stock ones?

I came from a z06 to this. My z06 would get 32-34mpg, my V is getting 22-23 on the highway, about 16 in town

I think some of the reason the Vette gets better is because its differnt gearing too. My z06 had the M12 transmission like the V does, but had 3.42 gears and the V has 3.73 gears. Weight and aerodynamics play major roles aswell.

KARS had made two proto type rears custom for two people. One is still around and the other traded his CTS V for a STS V. I think he was making them for $4500 to $5000. Another major helper is to find a used KARS stage III kit. You said that you're not a clutch dumper so that'll help.

I think the weak rear diff is the deal breaker for me. Im not willing to spend 7500 on a rear to put down over 500rwhp reliably and be able to use that power whenever/however I want. Hopefully this thread will help someone else looking into getting a V. Looks like Ill just have to keep playing with the diesel and get a new civic.

I get about 18 local and 25~ish highway. My C5 got better gas mileage (20&27) but it was also about 600lbs lighter than the Caddy. If I ever got bored with my Camaro I'd consider selling it and doing a MADMAN style rear and a mini-tub for some big *** rear tires on the V. I'd probably do a built 347 with an OFI turbo kit. Not all that likely since I have the Camaro for my fast car and the V is my daily driver when I'm not in my company vehicle.
