Default Traction Control Modes

I only get "Stability Off" after holding for 5 seconds. Should I be seeing "Traction Off" or "Competition Mode"?

I usually press the T/C button once...then again within 5 seconds. Does that put me into Competition Mode?

Holding the T/C button for 5 seconds will turn traction and stability off and give you only a "Stability Off" message.

Pressing the T/C button twice within 5 seconds does put you in Comp mode. If it doesn't display that on your DIC, then your nav was replaced at one time and needs to be reprogrammed by the dealer so it knows it's in a CTS-V.

I have asked the question before about not getting the "Comp Mode" message on the DIC, but no one answers either because they don't know or it is a dumb question. If your nav isn't programmed for a CTS-V, doesn't the car still enter Comp Mode after a double-click of the T/C button even though the "Comp Mode" message doesn't appear?

Also if you are having issues with your tire pressure sensors, it usually won't allow you to go into Comp mode (you can still turn of TC, or turn it all off, just not comp mode.)

Found this on another site:

1 press - TC off, full AH on
2 presses in 5 sec - Competitive Mode, TC off, AH on, but with greater tolerances for sliding sideways (what you want on a road course)
1 press for longer than 5 sec - TC and AH off.

Pretty sure if can be reflased with a Tech II if modes are not sequencing, if so, call Roadside Assistance.
If you have other items for warranty work, drive it in.

V goes in Tuesday. Gonna look at the T/C, motor mounts, and full service check.
