Default OPP at TMP-INSIDE the track!!!!!

Hey guys.
I was at TMP yesterday and couldn't friggin believe my eyes!!!! Their was an OPP Tahoe parked at the end of the track where you get your timeslip!!! The SVTOA was there having a track day so I am not sure if they were looking for someone. First they are outside the track with the MTO now they are inside?? It ******* blows my mind!!!! My car is not a street car so I am OK but for you guys who drive your cars on the street, I would be taking my plates off as soon as I got to the track! Maybe they are taking plate numbers and recording them, and then if you get pulled over they can say you race your car???

Also, I talked to a few guys who fiqured they would be set up again for next weeks Arm Drop Live event.

I dont think that is that big of a deal...could be there just talking to someone...The fact that you race your car legally at a race track should have no bearing on any ticket you get outside the race track if you were to get one. It is not like what we are doing is illegal. I think if the cop tried to bring that up in court the judge would toss the book at em...I wouldnt be worried...

Its called profiling boys get used to it. Think thats bad? Check out Phorm software... yikes

Thanks for the tip man. I'd definitely be yanking my plates and covering my VIN if I saw cops there. In fact I wouldn't even bother running I'd demand my money back and leave. Just because they cant "use" any info gained there against us in a court of law by no means stops them from creating a profile on us that helps mr John Q copper decide whether or not to pull us over or not. For instance even library card info has been used for years to track "criminals" so..... dont for a second think that this is completely passive I dont trust the tax grabbing freedom crushing police policies for a second and nor should you. Probably videoing everyone and I for one will certainly not be racing anywhere that cops are around its just not that important to me and if they were looking for someone the end of the track is not exactly the place to do it now is it? Give me a break

I cant understand why TMP would allow that to happen? No reason for it other than to help cops gain info to use against us as I see it. More research needed but thats lame

I talked to officer after I made a pass. He was cool, he was joking around to see how fast the car was coming with his radar.

I wouldn't be worried. Last week an OPP officer dialed down my speeding ticket-BIG TIME.

Thats good that the cop was cool. It may not have been his decision to be there.

On another note, your vette was awesome!! Love that blower whistle!!

OPP reduced fine? Man your one lucky guy. I've been stopped by OPP 4 times in 20 yrs driving and all four times not only did I get the MAX fine not one digit dropped but I also got one for some lame exhaust charge in a Grand National I had at the time ( beat it in court ) but no luck with the officers. Regional or Metro not so bad but OPP? Brutal luck for me.

All in all what do you think they are doing at the track? Trying to make friends? Come on its fishing for intel to make our lives more difficult anyway you slice it.

Maybe if street racing would just up and go away then so would this kind of crap. I think its too late for that to happen though

Makes me think of about 15 yrs ago or thereabouts when the two undercover cops had a Grand National that video'd everyone doing anything wrong and then Monday busted them all and reported everyone else who wasn't racing to their insurance companies. Bad scene I'm sure Sled was around for that. I dont street race I'm just a gear head who likes building stuff so I wasn't there but some of my friends were and got shafted.

Anyway you slice it cops sitting at TMP watching us race aint good for us

That cant be right??? Maybe if they are plated? If a not "road safe" car on a trailer was an offense every tow truck driver in Ontario would lose his license in a matter of hours.

Mind you I got pulled over by MTO two years ago coming through the Hammer and the guy was going to ticket me for too much load, no heavy sticker, and something else. Arun that was the day I grenaded my Torsen on the way home. The guy was hassling me saying because the vehicle was a 1 ton that I needed a heavy truck sticker to tow the trailer even though the only load on it was the trailer. The craziest part is if the tow vehicle was a half ton then it would have been okay... So dumb... Driving a massive brake equipped empty 1 ton truck is "not safe" to tow with according to him but using a wimpy half ton is?? His reasoning was that nothing was stopping me from loading up the 1 ton AND towing which would put me over weight so thats why he was going to fine me.

I argued that was utterly ridiculous and as dumb as a cop charging me with speeding for having a fast car in my garage because there is nothing stopping me from speeding so might as well charge me before I commit the offense. He was relentless but after over an hour of pleading he did let me go.

Minority report or sumthin geez

Yeah, the MTO and Smog guys are there. If you pay at the gate ...it is a public event and they can attend.NICE. The cars on the trailers were mustangs/camaros with no cats. The guys i would be worried about are the smog police. It is 385.00 a offence and it could be as easy as the gasket under the air breather or the air lid flipped over. That goes back all the way to the 60s. If they get smart that means a 396/375 camaro should have the air pumo on it. And the laws are up to them to do. Ask any drive clean site with thw smog police are like.

This only applies to plated vehicles correct? Time to stop running your plates and covering your VIN#'s when at the track boys

What a bunch of ****** remember boys next provincial election get your drum beating and hassle your regional rep about these issues. Squeaky wheel gets the oil and right now we aren't even getting a reach around.
