Are you getting the Hoosier QTP's? The 26" would probably make the most sense for you with the 3.73's... I am thinking of moving up to the 28"x11.5 in order to make sure I don't run out of gear with the spray... otherwise I might have to get rid of my 4.10's... as you know, they are pretty new and still silent... I could make you a good deal on them It's too bad it cost $500 every time I want to try a different tire size

QTP's are in the garage waiting to get mounted and yes I decided to try the 11.5's, just hope they fit, they are wide. I hope they help a little. I would like to see a 1.6 this year.

The 26s will fit

Should hook way better than those MT DRs as well. 11psi hot and you are good to go my friend

I ran a 1.57 on ET streets (26x10.5) at St. Thomas a couple years ago on my 360 ci combo.

The guy at Hoosier recommended against it. He said they should be fine as a race only tire. If I had any intention of putting them on the street then maybe.

I'll trust there knowledge of the product as he could of added them to the sale and still said no.

There is something with the design of the Convo Pro and the QTP, when screwing the rim it seems to push off the bead and the tires loose all thier air... hopefully, this won't happen to you!

Not till next week. Been racing two weekends in a row. Plus the club show and shine is this weekend. I want to get a few things finished off before the next outing.

New bigger injectors
Re tune for above
Mount the new tires
Install DSL, the new Y pipe now has room for one.
Service the diff., new oil and check gears.
Install exteneded studs while axles are out.

Then see how the car reacts and decide if I put the roll bar in. If it looks like a 11.3-11.5 car, I'll sell it. I would prefer to do without, more stealthy.

My biggest regret with the formula was putting in the rollbar.

If I had my time back I would have not done the rollbar, kept the stock carpet in and installed a dual dual SLP exhaust with electric cutout

11.50s@125-127mph traction limited is plenty fast for anybody

I really don't mind the rollbar, I am putting in black padding to make it a little more stealth... it's safer and will be needed as the car get's faster...

I also like the stock Z28 catback and the 3" FLP cutout... even the rectangular Z28 tips fit well with the rear end of the Firebird!

I am happy I kept the Z28 as a daily driver... the Firebird makes a great hot rod!

Going with the 2 F-Body strategy was a good one

Your rollbar is pretty stealthy, black car, tinted windows. mine is a white car no tint, BTW I hate tint. I have had it twice and it always scratches up and tears. on the street no roll bar is safer, since you do not wear a helmet there.

We will see what the new tires do for it. Not to sure if they have 1 sec. in them, maybe .6 though with good air.

The air can and will make a huge difference... the DA the last drag day was 2900ft... when the good air comes in the fall, -1000ft will shave off 6 10th's and add 6MPH! Not to mention that every 10th you shave off your sixty will result in at least a 10th reduction in your ET... based on the these 2 factors, you could in theory shave off a full second! All of this is theory...

The problem is that TMP is pretty strict these days and as soon as you run a low 11 second pass they will send you home

If you don't plan on running low 11's then you really don't need better tires than what you had...

400RWHP through an A4 is nothing to sneeze at! When will it be ready to hit the track?

EUG: I would be little more calm if I were you Sir.

Let me get a grip on this, you (my friend) are calling me a F***n Liar in front of the whole Canadian Forum.

(My apologies to all others for how my immature brain works, I will speak for myself & not for Nick or the rest of my families work)

So in other words I see that you are trying to ruin my reputation as a straight up "buisness" Man, who tries his best for any one who asks for his help & has made his bones & provide for his loved ones his whole life in this manner.

Yes or No Eugenio?.........

ANDRE: You have always been Classy & Straight with me & I will always value your opinion when we speak. I will keep our tiffs & misunderstandings between us, I will call you later today.
