There is one VERY important thing you have to remember...

He has a turbo car, turbos are completely LOAD dependent. Spinning is not only killing his times, it's killing his power output.

I bet you have 123-126mph with full hook even with a soft launch as long as you hook.

Hey I just asked Andre to clear up if dyno numbers do or do not mean anything after he contridicted himself so don't pin this on me.

Eugeneo's the one that exploded, started swearing lieing etc etc.......as usual.

Oh and Eugeneo................go cut your nails........all of them, that's gross.

Back on topic and hopefuly to stay there..........6 speed N/A cars are waaay easier to launch than Turbo cars even on radials. You gotta build up boost and you gotta hook that crazy torque or there's no use in having it. You also have to shift very quickly or once again you will lose boost.

I have raced a few Turbo cars that should have smoked me but they didn't and they lost. Of course they did the Mustang thing and asked to go again only this time a moving launch, say at about 30-40KPH.......no thanks I said.

Practice practice practice, and before you know it you'll be trapping over 120mph and be in the 11's on a radial.

Default Thanks for the advice

Thank you for the advice.

Looks Like I need

1) Practice
2) 15" rims, 10 with 7.5 bs convos narrowed rear 1.5
or Do the bogarts backspacing allow 10" without narrowing?
3) Hoosier or MT slicks for the strip.
4) 17 X 11" rims for the rear and 315 street radial.
5) Shortened CR-MO or possibly Carbon fibre DS (don't know if that is street)
6) Rolling of rear fenders.
7) Save for a forged motor 6L heads..........

Any thing else I missed?

I still suggest you throw it on another dyno just to be sure all the power is there... it would be crazy to spend all the money on the above parts and then find out that something is wrong! I think you would be fine with a 7.5" wide Convo Pro and a 28x9" slick... they are a direct bolt on and don't require any other mods...

What rear end are you running and what gear? What torque arm setup?

The 26x10 will outhook the 28x9.

stronger than stock DS is a good idea.

Cheers

My Slow 98 SS M6 single turbo has:

Spec 3 clutch
3.73 Moser 12 bolt 33 spline with detroit trutrac
Spohn TA (frame mount not transmission snout mount) and DS loop (front)
SLP diamond sub frames
Spohn LCA and relocation brackets
Spohn adjustable panhard.
Bilstein HD shocks (Not revalved yet, Darn)
Eibach pro kit springs.

How much risk is there to using carbon drive shaft? Will stone chip risk of destruction negate it's use on the street?

Thank you.

It would on a 10" rim... I am not convinced putting a 10" tire on a 7.5" rim is such a great idea... it would much simpler to go with the smaller rim, and based on his power level I think the 9" wide slick would work...

28x9 is way too tall considering his gearing. Also the 26x10 will work fine on a narrower rim.

I dont believe he has purchased rims yet anyways so he isnt limited to going to a 15x7.5 inch rim.

26x10 will hook a six speed to mid 1.4 sixties on a good track. With the 3.73s he'll need the shortest height tire he can get away with.

The best combo would be a Bogart 15x10 inch rim and a 26x10 inch MT ET Drag or Hoosier slick.

I would avoid the CF driveshaft if possible. $$$ and prone to disintegrating with chips etc. Also the shock from the six speed drivetrain might do a number on it as well....

Dynamic drive shaft in TO will take care of your DS for about 375-400$. One has put my 3850lb land barge into the 1.5 sixty range. They are steel and strong.
Listen to ChrisP with regards to tires. Your turbo needs constant load to make boost. When you spin you turn into an NA car. 3.73s and a 26 inch tire would be good to go.
The Bogarts will fit with no bashing but you will need to roll your fender as you are lowered. I have the same setup. 15x10(really 9.75) with 11.5x26 Et streets on a Vortech LT1. They are pricey but the lightest and best looking.
