Talking Cruisin'

Anyone got their rides out of winter storage or hibernation?

It was nice and sunny in Windsor today and yesterday - took the Z28 for a nice and pleasant 3-4 hr drive.

If the weather keeps up like this and we get a good rain to wash away whats left of the salt, I will pull mine out.

Well I had a little rotor rust that needed cleaning off so I melted off a few mils of rubber on Friday eve but still too much gack on the roads for any really running and I need a tune BAD. Wont return to idle after head/cam swap.

Thanks! It's funny because when I was looking for a "beater", I was checking out Mazda 3's, Hondas and the like, something cheap and slow. However, at that time Dodge had good incentives and the dealer had a hard time getting rid of these cars, so I was able to get it new and only slightly above cost.

The real tragedy here is that I have a turbo upgrade waiting to go on the SRT-4, and after that point my "winter beater" will be faster that my Camaro.

I guess I will just have to save up for that STS Turbo kit to set things right again.

I had a similar situation - looking for a winter beater such as a civic, golf, neon. I ended up with a GM 4x4 truck instead, so I can continue with the performance upgrades on the camaro without any worries.

Best of luck with your rides.

It's the Mopar Stage 3 turbo kit. Among other things it includes a larger turbo + manifold, new computer, fuel pump + larger injectors, and a neat little in-cabin control box which has switches for an intercooler sprayer, boost settings, and a button to advance timing for high-octane fuel.

According to Mopar, it's good for up to 355hp / 365tq.
