Default what plugs for carbed ls motor?

I have a carbed 4.8 with a 220r cam. I see a lot of people use the ngk tr55's but they are also all fuel injected. Is there a preferred plug for those with a carb? The mods include 220r cam, headers, and a 650 carb.

The 55s will be fine, I've got TR6s in my carb'd LS but it a "little" more radical than yours

Do you have to run the irridium plugs like they recommend? They are $7 a piece.
