Default Carbed 5.3 what cam?

I'm putting a 5.3 in a 62 wagon, plan on starting with a cab at first, what cam would be recommended for a daily driver, it is being backed by a 700r4 and 331-355 rear gears, I was thinking of using a ls1 cam but I don't want to make any mistakes.

LS6 cam is pretty good and can be got cheap. If you are planning on switching to fi later you might as well just ahead and do it from the get go.

For something that is not race oriented but will get down and surprise the best, a LS6 cam would do wonder i think.

I have a quickfuel DP setup, works great but i could fine tune it better if i had the acc pump cams to eliminate a slight stumble i have, otherwise, the huge *** Trex cam isnt exactly the best thing for low RPM cruising, but i deal with it.

I'm impressed with my ASA cam. It surges some in low gears at 1500-1800 rpm with the stick car, but ive just learned to rev it a bit more.

I have a quickfuel hr-680 on my 5.3. It had a stumble at first and then I added the 50cc accelerator pump kit. Now it runs great.

Did you run the stock cam before this? If so how much difference did it make? What timing are you running and carb?

That cam would pick up plenty of torque and mid range.
