I run a 50 right now with my TR5s, but with a colder plug i would go 40 with gas, up to a 150.

Honestly, you are right, i am drinking a bit and thinking of my old small blocks, my bad, the more efficient GEN III/IV heads dont need so much gap.

?2 plugs gaps closed? using nitrous? I am not a nitrous guru, but if the plugs werent hit by something, then they must be overheating and closing up?
I'm sure someone experienced with nitrous will chime in.
