Default Show me how you mounted your alternator.

I am trying to get some ideas for my Chevelle. I am not running anything but the water pump and standard size alternator. I would love to have it on the passenger side and use it as the belt tentioner. I am running Corvette balancer and pump so it is close to the block. Give me some ideas!

Using an 85 amp denso alt out of an import. It is a good bit smaller than the delco unit. Bracket is just 1/8" mild steel and some 3/8" pipe for spacers. No problems with belt wrap, everything works. Corvette accesories.

the setup zone89rs is running is built around a truck wp and crank pulley. most of the motors used in swaps are truck based. so i designed around em.
the alternator is off 90s tpi fbodies. the tensioner is a heim link mechanical tensioning system.
zone89rs also uses a idler bracket setup for improved wp. belt tracking and traction.
hes turning upwards of 7000rpm without any issues.

these will not work with a corvette crank pulley, but will work with the car wp if the pulley is pulled off the shaft around .500

he just turned the water pump neck around by inserting a pipe in there and forcing it over after heating it with a torch, at least that's how we've moved them in the past.

I taped it out in an upward direction back and forth with a dead blow hammer, then used JB weld to seal it in with i got the desired angle.

These are the only pics I have of my setup. I drilled and tapped the block and the top of the alt. mounts there. I had a BMR bracket laying around and used that on the lower bolt so I had some adjustability.
