I just got my hands on an LS1 rack and it didn't seem to make much difference. Actually, it looked exactly like the one I took off the car. Maybe somebody swapped in a LS1 rack before I got the car. I may have to buy some of those 1" setback plates since I bought the regulars and the manifolds are hitting the steering shaft.

We had to trim the metal "ears" off the steering shaft to clear the manifolds.

What did you make for him? its hard to tell on the pics so it looks like an accessory set from a car. I managed to get everything to work with the truck set up but Im wondering if the water pump from a car will work with the truck set up. just so I dont have to deal with moving the water neck

The car (camaro/gto) water pump is .75 shorter than the truck IIRC. The corvette water pump is even shorter. They do make adapters on ebay to make up the differance. Eric L

I make mechanical tension brackets that allow use of tpi alt, stock truck wp and crank pulley and use of gm type2 ps pump or manual steering.no pump.
Yes u can use the car wp with truck accesories. The solution is to pull the pulley off the shaft about .500

Fbody/c5 use same wp even though use diff offset crank pulley.
Spacers behind the wp will also affect oe tensioner offset.
Truck,fbod,c5 use diff offset tensioner.
C6 use the shorter pulley wp

When putting a carb'd LSX into a LT1 car, what do I need to do to keep my guages working? Not really worried about my speedo, but want my oil pressure, volt, temp, and tach to work.

Use the stock wires into the alternator I assume t voltage, and adapter for the oil pressure to work, maybe same for temp, and the tach should wire into the inition controller.

Did you use the stock lq4/6.0 (assuming it was a truck engine) oil pan with the lt1 k-member?
