Thanks for the input, I know it's not super nice but it will work for the amount of time and money. some things about it

gm muscle car pan setup
gm asa cam and matched valve springs
junkyard motor
edelbrock intake kit
quick fuel 650 douple pumper
aeromotive fuel pump and regulator
new oil pump and timing chain
made my own motor mounts, rear crossmember
headers, waiting on rest of mandrel 3" pipe for exhast
I rebuilt 700r4, all the goodies, transgo, vette servo, zpac clutches
electric fan
6.0-4l80 flywheel, reamed holes in flywheel, read to do that on here, worked pretty good.
this was kinda a shotgun type of deal had some parts laying around and found
this 61000 mile truck cheap.

did you have to use the spacer with the flywheel and where did you get the headers?

Got it running tonight with mufflers on so i can hear it, everything seems good other than running very rich and cant seem to calm down, i think the carb is going to be tricky to get right.
bigchief52780, I used the spacer and the bolts supplied with gm flywheel, and had to ream holes about 3/16 to a 1/4 to bolt to convertor. I was skeptable about doing this but i think it will be fine, doesnt vibrate and all is centered so??? I built the headers myself. I dont really know if it was worth it or not s&p sells a set i thought was high but after buying mandrel pipe and flanges and collectors and the time, I havent set down to figure out if it was worth it or not, but it was fun so what the hell.

Alm paint as in a clear coat? I think I'll have to spend some serious time scrubbing on mine, not quite so pretty from the heads down..The brakeclean I can get by the tons at work so I'll have to try that. I think originally I just used 3m gunk remover and a scrub pad but this time the sanblaster is goin to the block to get all that nasty orig. paint off

Has anyone messed with Quick Fuel carbs? I cant seem to get this thing under control, it wants to run really rich. Just seeing if anyone has had experience with these carbs? Open to suggestions.

Those motor mounts look fantastic. Wanna make me a set too?? I'm workin on a 5.3 in a 77 c10. Think the stock truck pan would be ok in that swap?? Far as that carb goes, rich all the time? Just at idle or what?? I've heard some really great things and really bad things about em. Haven't heard any middle ground at all!! But that's aboutbhoe everything is though ain't it!? Haha

I think the stock truck pan will work in your c-10, I used one in my 88 camaro. and the bottom of the pan was at the same height as the exhaust. Just had to be careful on bad roads and inclines was all. and back in the old days that was th "hot" ticket, having a low profile pan... so just try it if it wont fit for you them GMPP makes a swap pan kit for $160, comes with pan pickup tube windage tray gasket and new bolts. Looks identical to an F-body ls1 pan... thats what im running now, the roads are really bad up here in places haha

DaMuuule
the mounts were simple to make just 1/4x 4" flat cut and ripped then welded
with some holes drilled. pm me if you relly want a set. As far as the pan goes, if you plan on lowering it more than 2 inches you better run the gmpp pan. I am lowering the front 4" and back 6". that is part of the reason for the custom headers so they are tucked up in frame rails. downfall, has to make mounts and make a cable to use stock shifter on column.
