question about a headers

what company makes a headers for 67 impala. I have a ls1 thats goin in soon and i need the headers now. thanks

Prolly gonna have to diy or use headers for another vehicle and most likely have to mod

I found some company that makes them, but they are pretty pricey. Might use the stock exhaust manifold for now till i find something for reasonable on the price.

FYI, i used some cheapo Ebay headers for temporaries, they are pretty good for what they are, i modded mine so they flow a bit better, not bad for 80$:

Stock flange size:

Opened the pass side up to 3 inch:

Driver side is a goofy flange so i chopped it off and welded one to match the pass side:

Of course 3 inch:

They fit very well and clear the plugs pretty decent.

Check and see if Doug's makes custom headers for your swap. My friend has a 67 Malibu and he got his headers from them. They did not make them for my corvette but I was able to find a company who made them for me. if you do enough searching you should eventually find something that will work.

yeah i'm checking ebay now. I refuse to spent almost $1000 for headers. thats like buying 2 of my motor.

i got a 351 windsor sprint car kit and welded it all together with LS flanges. about 150 bucks.

i was told to buy the fbody headers and just use h-pipe and it should work. will see, i'm buying ebay long tube to try it out. dont want to get stock with expensive headers if i have to modify for it to work.

since its not exactly a common swap your options for headers are limited. i know for the fox body swap people were taking the ford long tubes and cutting the flanges off to put ls flanges on. theoretically you could take a small tube bbc headers and do the same thing with them.. just $.02
