Default LQ4 meets FAST EZ EFI

Not sure if this is the right area to post this but here goes anyway. I have a LQ4 in my burb with a 670 street avendger, msd 6010, HTC1 cam. Getting horrific milage and it is my daily driver so i ordered the FAST EZ EFI. Hope it helps. Should be installing if in a few weeks. This kit is amazing. It can bump up idle for a/c and turn cooling fan on/off, only a few wires to hook up and it is self learning. Will let yall know how it all works out for me.

I'm leaning on buying a efi super vic and doing the multi port version of this with a Wilson 4brl TB

So, it distributes fuel through rails or the TB housing?

I believe it distributes the fuel at the base of the throttle body. To the original poster, what is considered "horiffic" fuel mileage? Considering that most LQ4 trucks got around 12 mpg. Hope the swap goes well, I will also be checking in to see how it goes. Good luck. Eric L

Cool. Nice unit, looking forward to hear how it works.

Out of curiosity, what made you decide on the FAST unit over some of the other similar units from different companies?

This is getting to be a popular option around here.

Looking at the cost, it doesnt seem worth it for me any time soon, all the time dialing in my carb, i get 20 MPG or so, the EFI setup that i would want price wise for the FAST EZ is 1600 and says it is only good for 550 HP.

It sprays fuel under the throttl plates directly into the intake manifold. Therw the red fuel rails and 4 injectors. I selected this one over the holley set up due to the holley set up being old school stuff. All the holley is gm tbi but with 4 barrles. Not to say it does not work but i like the look of this one better and seems more advanced. It comes with a 33 page book on the instructions and how to set it up and adjust stuff. Not hard to follow at all. Comes with trouble shooting instructions and wireing diagram. It can handle 650 hp if you bump the fuel psi up. It is acctually in the instructions. And you can get a second throttle body and it can then do 1200 hp. I only get 5-7 mpg now. I am hopeing for 10-12 mpg. You can set the a/f ratio when you are actually driving down the road. So if you are going for a long hiway drive you can get on the road and then lean it out a bit. You get to set the ratio you want for idle, cruse, and wot. From 50% to 100%throttl it curves up to the ratio you set it at. Mostly i just want to be able to drive my truck every day and not have to wait for high idle or play with the carb. I dont know alot about carbs so this is better for me. I am sure if i got a better carb and tuned the hell out of it i could get close to the same mpg but if i wanted to drive it to different state i would have to pull over half way and rejet it. It was this or buy tiny little gay car to drive for the same price and let my burb sit with new motor. All the cars in that price range around here are junk. Hope to have it in in a few weeks. Hope this answers most questions.

i was planning on getting the 'd lux' package. Seemed like it was a decent enough deal for what it came with;

throttle body
injectors
rails
tune
computer
fuel filter
fuel pump
hose
harness
wideband/coolant sensor

I want the carbed look but i dont know anything about them, and this saves me having to pay for a tune as well.

just my .02

EDIT: just saw on their site they make a kit for in-tank pumps now too (as well as external)

Yes you can change the injector size. They are 88lbs injectors already. The throttle body is 1000 cfm. It has the same size bores as a 750 but no boostes to get in the way. You can always add second tb and handle 1200 hp easy. Wonder what would happen if you just got a second tb and did not have 1200 hp. Lets say only 500 hp. Wonder how it would drive. Hmmmm wish i had the money to find out. Duel quad efi lsx could not get much cooler.

I got the ecm mounted and the wires all cut to length and termanals put on them. All i have to do is put fuel system in and throttle body on. Maybe down the road put ecm in a water proof box. I have not decided on that tho.

Wern't the wires long enough to put the box inside the vehicle. Like on the firewall, kickpanel, or in the glove box?

That is a one off custom hold down. Very high dollar. I could make you one if you want.... I hope to get a hold down wedge soon.

Maybe for a smaller car. I can get it in side but the massive hole that would be needed in my firewall would be no good. They said it is water proof.....
