i've got a throttle rod style gas pedal linkage on my 69 nova and with a victor jr.,1 inch carb spacer and a kickdown cable from bowtie overdrives.it appears i may need a taller bracket off of the firewall side(i'll probably just cut 2 old ones apart and weld it to lengthen it)and has anyone with these type cars had this problem?i'm using hooker motor mount adapters and the motor can'r really set any lower or the oil pan will hit the frame(gm muscle car pan).i'm just wondering if anybody else has run into this.

i have done that in the past-also one of the novas used a cable type linkage,
the arm fits in the same firewall piece, uses a c clip to hold it in, and has an arm inside to attach to the cable-i used a universal cable/bracket from i think
Lokar and could mount it anywhere, just drilled a hole in the firewall to line up with the arm inside
the camaros and novas used the pedal, but i used it on my 65 chevelle, which used the same setup thru the firewall
i have one of the cable linkage pedals i could picture if needed, i think its also offered as a repo in the nova/camaro book-i tried to find a stock cable to use, might look into it again, as i dont really like the allen set screw that holds the cable into the carb linkage, good failure point

67-69 Camaro 6 cyl. used a cable....parts shouldn't be hard to find.
Lokar may even have a retro-fit kit ?
here you go....

I do not recommend using a throttle rod linkage with the bowtie overdrives TV cable bracket. It can cause a potentially dangerous situation if the motor lifts under acceleration whereby the throttle will stick wide open.
I used the Lokar throttle cable kit on my car to solve this problem.

i'm going the cable route.does anybody know where i can find a gas pedal and cable assembly for a 70-72 nova?i don't want lokar for the look and price.the pedal seems really out of place in the car.
