Default Some "closed course" road video of my 65

I had a little fun in a closed industrial park and I though I would share the video. Sorry for the lousy cell phone video, but still fun. 1 in car, 1 outside the car video.

Nice. The 1st one reminds me of my truck. Nail it from a slow cruise.... and it takes a while for it to grab. Like somewhere around mid-upper 2nd?

Hopefully the drag radials will allow me to use 1st gear. Even if I roll into 1st easily say 1/2 to 2/3 throttle the car still kicks sideways on the 1-2 shift. The only way I can go full throttle is if I click it into 2nd at a very low speed and roll into it. Even this only works on the best roads. I just hope I don't have to pull my front sway bar to get it to hook at the track. My converter is only 3000, so we shall see.

yup....sounds like my truck. Getting traction in 1st is futile at WOT, from a roll at any speed; and if I hit 2nd hard...sideways it goes so that I have to get out of it. Looking at buying some 315/60-15 or so drag radials... and hoping that along with some softer shocks it resolves my traction problems. Hopefully I get it all dialed in (or close) before it cools down enough to go to the track with it.

It would be fun to see a few videos of you nailing it hard from a dead stop.

tigg, my crappy computer doesnt have sound right now, but after a hesitation that iassume is traction issues, stuff got really blurry really quick along the side of the road! scalded dog ! on a more personal note , it was cool to see an old buick haulin a$$. as a child my mothers car was a 63 buick wildcat convertible , 425 nailhead( wildcat 445, which was the torque rating on the breather). bucket seats, posi , dual exhaust, console mounted tach, red on red w a white top. she gave me that car after it sat in our back yard for 10 yrs and the top rotted( along with everything else). at 14 yrs old, i tryed to fix it( yea right). wound up selling it for scrap at 15 yrs old for 15 bucks. anyway that car is the reason i do this hotrod thing today. really nice to see one that didnt melt into the ground. great job, dude!!

When you watch it with sound, it will all make sense. I actually roll into it slowly at 25 mph trying to get traction - which is pointless with these BFG radials.

My traction situation is about to improve. The 275/60R15 Drag Radials fit. I will be doing a little "massaging" of the inner wheelhouse for extra clearance on big bumps, but it is minor.
