just wondering what kind of mpg to expect out of a 3200 lb car with a 700r4 trans and a cruzing rear gear? all stock 5.3 with a edelbrock intake and a holly carb.

I would bet you can knock down 25 mpg on the highway. Around town I am not sure. Maybe 15?

With a good overdrive gear ratio I'll bet 25 highway and well over 20 around town.

yea, I may do some work on the internals since I got the whole thing apart any ideas? lighter parts?

best ive gotten is 22. 5.3 w/z06 heads 218/222 cam 3.42gears

I will be swapping a 5.3 into my 94 GMC and i will be looking for 22 on the freeway with a vac sec 750 Holley, the trans controller is in the mail on the way so i can use a 4L60 with a carb(there went 600$) and i am still trying to see if i can hustle another newer 5.3, 07 up so there is more power to be had all around for ease of cruising and acceleration, i am looking for a LS6 cam as well.

yea im hoping for at least a average of 20, mostly steady driving at 55 mph all the way to school.
