That is allot of power. This is just to satisfy my urge to be completely done with GEN I SBCs, and get more power and efficiency. Going from 190 or so HP to 330 or so will be a huge difference.

Looks like a nice swap!

any reason why you didn't degrease and wash the engine bay when motor was out? seems like such a nice/new motor going in you could of made it a little nicer looking and easier to work on. idk stuff like that just bugs me when its so simple/easy.. nice beater truck then pop the hood and bam nice clean engine bay w/ new motor lol.

Well, being in a hurry to get it going again, i was thinking of cleaning the underhood later. Just want to get her on the road again, it has been a great truck and now will be better than ever, i can then start on body work.

Well she moved under he own power. Still need to wire the fuel pump and trans controller to a keyd 12 v source and then get a temp gauge temporarily till i get the stock gauge to work.

Well, runs and drives great, need to get the exhaust on, otherwise, has a stumble off idle on a heavy stab, fuel pressure it at 8 pounds, the lowest the regulator will allow, so i fear that the mallory regulator might be receiving a bit more than it can handle.

How big is the return line on that thing? You might stick a short larger return line in a bucket and see if that allows the regulator to bring you down to 6.

I have 3/8s line connecting it to the stock return line, i will give that a shot, if so i will run 3/8 all the way back if it helps, i am surprised it will idls so well, last time i had that much fuel pressure in a car it idled like crap, butt hat was cammed and this is not.

LOL, yea, the old daily beater had a 306K mile motor and trans i removed, still did not smoke or act anything other than top shape from the engine.

The air cleaner is painted gunmetal like the valley, valve covers and oil pan. It was a freebie from a friend and had rust on it, so i hit it with steel wool and scotch brite, then painted it.

My 5.3 in my 2000 ECSB shifts around that stock. Sounds about right 5600-5800 RPM.

Well, i will be going to pick the truck up here in a bit, then i can tune the carb. I have a primary 70 jet, 28 squirter and 30cc acc pump, and there is a nasty dead spot when stabbing the throttle or rolling into it heavy while cruising, so the tuning begins. I am wondering if drilling out the air bleeds will help the primarys start getting fuel faster.

Throw your wide band on it. If the cam is stock, you will probably go to a 7.5 or higher power valve. How much vacuum at idle in gear?

Wide band is installed in the RS so it is not just able to be removed. I was thinking the power valve is probably not right for it. But i do not have a vacuum gauge.
