It is simple and sweet, very worth it, I think I will do the edelbrock cam when I get a chance though, after I fix the teams and throw a converter in, I will enjoy it that much more in the ol beater.

No, have not tried to make the speedo work yet, still have not dropped TA wide band on it either.

Come on Zone, im waiting for a time slip. That thing has GOT to be a barrel of monkeys to drive now, compared to the old TBI. Eric L

I did this swap on a 91 with an ls1 like 5 yrs ago....my speedo was way the hell off, but it worked haha. I had the moonies though. Using 5th was bad....nevermind 6th. I had 3.08 grs in that one, this one i figured 4.10s will be ideal. I ran a 14.8 at 92mph...in second gear hahaha

It runs great for a 4.8, think my 2001 3/4 ton 6.0 is faster, it is dyno tuned.

The 4.8 killed 1st gear in the Trans, so I have not run it yet, in due time, will have runs before and after cam.

any idea on how much that nv3500 can hold? I have the same thing in my 93. Still searching for a 5.3 or 6.0 though but im concerned the motor stock or with a few bolt ons may be too much for that trans. I know its not meant for racing or shifting fast but want a stick in the truck and trying to avoid the cost of the t56.

The extra for the t56 would for one thing, fit. Also be string as nails, have not seen a older 5 speed behind a Ls motor yet from a truck.
