as i said on day 1 of this thread it s a ******* LSX454 go all out save the coin build it right. **** im making 620rwhp with a fast to keep it under bonnet if your going out of the bonnet go bigger.
I saw only the other day a 454 build on here i was reading down the list of mods and was going nice nice nice all the top goodies internally then i reach the end and it says single plane intake and it engine dynos at like 570HP and im like you dumb mother ******. If only you did 5min more research you'd have that figure at the treads.

Well, there is philosophizing and then there is actual knowledge based on practical experience. What you will find in a real world is that for his practical application, nothing will be any faster than 1000 cfm of properly calibrated carburetor on the correct single plain intake.

If u look he is looking at cost.......Cost wise it would be cheaper to go carb'd, I'd hate see the cost of twin Carb style TB and the ECU to run them along with all the sensors plus he may not have tuning knowledge for EFi and yadda yadda

for that marcella twin intake im sure he is gonna run past $2000 US(2186.80AUD)just for the intake!! For a Street car running a production based LSX 454 would not be worth it unless for bragging rights. I'd only spend that kind of coin if I was going full Fogger 400 shot system or Large Turbo for Racing

Why build an LSX454 if you cannot afford to it it properly. wait it out save the coin or you may as well have bought someones old worked 383 or 408 it will be just as powerful as your mediocre de-tuned LSX454.

Time/Income/Age...all factors, I wouldnt get all insulted and Butt hurt cause this guy doesnt wanna build what u wanna build, I see U have FAST intake, why didnt U save for a Becks intake or a custom marcella one?!?!?

If i was going all out, id be going 15.0:1 comp E85 edlebrock heads flowing over 460cfm with twin marcella, twin 2000cfm throttle bodies. ditch my 2in headers for 2 1/4in....but somehow i think the cops would be pulling me over all the time.
Or hold out for a year or 2 for direct injection heads to come out.
I'm due back on the dyno soon still with the FAST 102 and i'm expecting to see closer to 650rwhp still on pump fuel 98octane.

Well from the looks of this guy's car posted in the Carb section he wants to get his "Built himself" 67 Camaro on the road. I know sheetmetal and restoration parts are not cheap for 1gens and from the pic he isnt making a full out race car plus the fact he had to start from scratch in his build instead of having a full ready car.

Plus take into factor what tranny he is running, driveshaft, and wheel weight he may have a 500rwhp-550rwhp car. Now factor in different carb then GM offers, different single plane intake then Gm offers, Different cam, rockers arms, carbon fiber driveshaft, and light weight wheels and he easily pull pass your numbers using his Single Carb intake.

Just curious have you ever seen a carbed version on an engine dyno that isn't associated to GMPP and their marketing......I'm not sure if i doubt the figures hell those same figures sold me on buying one for my GTO but for some reasons after seeing an engine dyno on here recently as i said above....but i cant find which thread now it was more like 570hp @ the flywheel.

we are talking about a stock crate and making the most of it, sure my fat GTO will run that fast with better heads too.

Bit quicker than your little single carb and pushing a much heavier car the back seat is still int his thing....lol full interior, air con everything except for race seats add to that the weight of a cage he is over 4000lbs.
And this isn't the fastest i have seen here in Australia i have seen 7.2 all motor N/A in a ute run by Nathan Higgins who does most of the head work for our V8 Supercars.

But still i reckon the OP should save up for another month or 2 or 3 and build what he originally dreamed of building.
