Help me Build my Carb Motor
Decided to go Carb setup for my 5.3, heres my list
Goal is to do a Big Cam, High Compression Carb motor and hit it with a 200 shot
5.3 Bored over to a 5.7
Stock LS1 Pistons
Milled 5.3 Heads (aiming for 11:1 scr)
Vic Jr Intake
Tick Polluter Cam
MSD timing control
Hows this setup sound? and what size Carb would you guys suggest for this? I was thinking something in the 650-750 range. Im open to any suggestions

What are your goals for the car ? what is it going in ? what tranny and convertor, rear end , gears ? i would no doubt give pro systems a call they are the best in the business got me hooked up with a 1000 cfm holley for my 402 ls i love it

I assume you are starting with the 5.3 because that is what you have? The one question I have is do the 5.3 heads flow as well as say 243's? i thought they had some concessions for the smaller bore. If true I wonder if you would be better served upgrading.
You will need at least a 750 carb. Pro systems stuff is nice but you can save some money sourcing a used 750 and tuning it yourself. You can get a choke that way too if you plan on street driving this car in Indiana winters.

I agree with zone minimum of a 750 i just threw pro systems out there becuase they have been really good about answering my questions, and they are the best in the business. Good luck on the build

got a buddy who has a 650 off of an Old 427 vette, said its been worked over to a 680 and is willing to sell it for $50. He swapped it off his 406 Camaro in favor of a 750 but he said from what he felt since switching them, the 680 would go toe to toe with any 750 out there. For the price i wasnt gonna pass that up, so how does that 680 sound?
