I'm in Volusia - takes about an hour to get down to Speedworld. You guys have an eighth mile track in Lakeland, right?

Apparently there is a new 1/8 mile track right near the Orlando Airport, mostly imports there?

I have never been to the lakeland track, but I hear they are fixing it up right now. I might make the drive to check it out.

yeah the 8th mile is still a little rough but they are cleaning it up a bit. Actually seen some decent cars recently. Cool thing about it is you get to make as many runs as you want basically.....

Default plans

I'm going to save up and get a cam and springs for it this summer.

I'll probably not do a stall for a while, I had such a hard time getting the exhaust in and out last time I had the tranny out. When got the exhaust system, I told the guy at the shop "Use some flanges and bolts somewhere so I can get it out later." He did, but the joints are not on a parallel portion so picture me laying on my garage floor using a hammer and 3 cans of PB blaster!!!

Do a small cam, like a hot cam, ect, you would love it, unless you are really going after some maxim performance and time slips, otherwise, a larger converter will be a must, ect ect. Sure you cannot wait!!!

dish on the LQ4 does not help with PTV. the outside of the piston head is still the same height as an LQ9 piston, and will still hit the valve.

I have that problem with my L92 heads and thier large intake valves, but would the small valves of an LQ9 cylinder head (317 im assuming) have that problem as well? Eric L

Yes and no, from my experience checking ptv with my cathedral heads, yes, from seeing the mammoth ls3/l92 head valves, not so much.

True that. My Piston to valve clay check on my L92 heads showed the valve ALMOST to the edge of the piston. Eric L

If you are on a serious budget, I would go with an 8.5 10 bolt. just weld the axle tubes(use hi nickle rods or wire) a set of summit axles, factory style limited slip( make sure it is good. they dont make rebuilt parts YET) and gear it for your intentions and you are ready to go. Should hold 500+HP at the wheels with no problem and they free up a little HP to the wheels. Just my .02.
By the way GREAT NUMBERS!!!!!
