What power steering lines did you use? Also I am going to run the factory alternator like you but mine does not line up with the lq4 bracket did you have to drill your holes out bigger?

You have to knock the passenger side dowel out and use some washers for the single bolt that goes I to the mounting ear.

I used stock power steering lines off the 94 gmc and they fit the LS truck pump nest like stock. May have to slightly bend the hard line for the pressure side. Nothing special.

So how was the built 700r4 while you had it in there?

Considering using the one I have for a while. The one I already have has 35K on a newer rebuild with an HD Trans Go kit and an HD servo. It would be really easy to put in a Beast Sunshell. My goal would be to get like 2 years out of it. It won't be raced... just weekend street driven. So I think it would live for long enough.

The 700r4's are great if built right. It all depends on the weight of your car, power and how you drive it. They are easy to destroy if the TV cable isn't set right. But when they have the right parts and are set up right, they are one of the best autos out there.

Hey there I have a 1998 sierra that i plan to put an lm7 in and turn in a daily driver but i am looking for good low end torque and good mid range power. Now my question is, is where do i start with this engine and how do i choose what heads i would like to put on it? Any recommendations? Im open to all available wisdom you all are willing to provide.

The truck looks excellent!

This going to be a carbed setup? If not then performancetrucks.net has a ton of info for you.

Update.
Got the Detroit Truetrac diff, 4.30 motive gears and monster stage 4 clutch kit installed. Truck was running awesome until I broke something in the short block. I was anticipating the bottom end to fail. This vid is the first time I got on it after breaking the gears and diff in. It hit the 6,800 rpm rev limiter faster than I thought it would.

In the next two weeks I will be installing a 2001 LS1 out of a Camaro SS. Has 68,000 miles on it.
241 heads with a valve job and milled 0.020.
Cometic 0.040 head gaskets to have a CR of about 10.8 to 1.
Comp Thumpr Cam
Edelbrock Performer RPM intake
Holley 750cfm carb
2" Primary Long tubes
New lifters
other small goodies

If I don't break into the 11's with this setup I am gonna throw a 150 shot of Nitrous at it.

The next week should be a fun one. I will be installing a complete Belltech 2/4 drop kit with street performance shocks and some Caltrac traction bars. Also going in the truck is the finished LS1 and T-56. Can't wait to test this baby out with the new power and suspension.
