You can get an aluminum street avenger for just under your price limit

http://www.jegs.com/i/Holley/510/0-8...ductId=1118144

They also sell a pretty good selection of remanufactured carbs. I would look at one of those. The street avengers work a little better out of the box with LS motors than full up double pumpers.

Quick fuel is making a budget slayer series. They have better tuning features than the Holley, are cheaper and are still aluminum. Not sure if I have seen posts were anyone is running one, but the price sure is right.

I got a remanufactured Edelbrock Thunder AVS for far less than your budget at Amazon. It's also available at Jegs and summit. I ordered on a Monday, took delivery on Wednesday, installed Thursday and raced Saturday.

Good call. I've actually been ordering more parts from Amazon myself. Catch it right and some items are considerably less than Jegs & Summit, free shipping too.

Dang I never looked at those Quick Fuel carbs.....my goals are to run 11s IF i can. Heads I will use are milled .030 317s and a EPS 234/246 cam...<<Which will get done next month but i need to get a carb now to drive the car and test out the engine while still STOCK..Plan on adding a at least a 100 shot on next month also. Gears I will use are my 3.42s in my 8.5..my converter is a 3000 revmax 9.5" in a built up TCI 700r4.

Buddy of mine just killed a rev max in a built 700r with a cammed 5.3. Was not the "good" one promised for 700 hp though.

Looks like a slightly up featured version of the slayer carb. Actually I just noticed the slayer has a secondary metering plate instead of a metering block, so sort of like a 4160 vs. 4150. I would rather have the block, might be worth the extra bill.

Those carbs have a lot of tunability built in.

QF must have come out with a couple of new lines in the last few months. About a year ago when I was looking to replace my Holley about the only thing they had for the street was the SS carbs.

WWWHHHHEEEWWWW......well good buy for me then....I just purchased this carb at 11:45 CT from Jegs....for $420.93 SHIPPED to my door OVERNIGHT...so it will be here tomorrow!...I priced match it with the link below and just took advantage of the overnight shipping since it would've came out to about the same price if I would've got it straight through Jegs no price match...I have to do some research on how to adjust these and learn more about them. So this is a 4150 baseplate carb then..Hopefully it does good on the 6.0 while when I called Quickfuel and Jegs, they both suggested no more than a 650cfm...I've never seen a 6.0 with less than a 750 on it so oh well..Thanks yall!!
