Default Combo for 79 Trans am

Ok can you guys give me opinions on a possible combo for a 79 TA with t-tops.
I currently drive the car almost every day with a sbc 350 so I'm looking for a fast street machine..

This what I have:
700 r4 level 2 from bowtie
2400 stall converter
750 carb
273 gears
Stock lq9 with stock 317s

What I want/need:
342 or 373 gears
Performer rpm intake
Msd box
howards #190245-12 222/225 @50 .561/.578 cam & springs

3.73 gears for sure, the rest of everything you have lined up sounds dead on for a small cam that will make noise but cruise great and be able to use the existing converter.

It would not be worth it since that can will not utilize the rpm a Vic jr is intended for. But yes, cosmetically the jr wins, lol.

Good looking combo.

RPM will be quicker for sure. But, it is not like it won't run good with the Victor.

Yea you would def be giving up 20 ft-lbs of some much needed low end torque but only pick up maybe 10 hp on the big end...

Also that cam will work well with the stock castings, a lot of people over do it on the lift when using stock heads...with the converter it should be a nice ride
