Default Stock 5.3 93 coupe mustang what time should I run?

Hey guys, I have a 93 coupe mustang, team z front k member,8.8 with 3.73 gears, powerglide with 3600 ptc stall, kooks long tube headers, victor jr intake, msd 6010 box, holley 650 DP carb,3" exhaust with mufflers,26x10.50 slicks, full interior,no cage, stock 2002 5.3 from truck "stock cam". I had some tranny issues, tranny was slipping in low to high shift and bumping the rev limiter, rev limiter was still set at 5500. I have the tranny shifting crisp now and I plan to up the limiter to 6100 or 6200. I ran a 8.594 1/8 with the tranny slipping and the rev limiter low. The track is closed now, how much time should I pick up with the tranny fixed and the rev limiter moved up? Also how much will I gain with a 150hp nitrous hit? I want to see what the stock 5.3 will run before I change the cam out. Thanks

Up to a few tenths, it will help shifting higher. The nitrous can knock off over a second at that size. I posted results from a friends stock 5.3 in a stang, on the Trans brake it hit 7.9 at best all motor.

The glide is hurting your motor times. I ran a 6.70 in the 1/8th with a 5.3 with a z06 cam , 98 ls1 perimeter bolt heads and a 150 shot. My mustang weighed 3020 with me in it. I have a glide in mine. The glideis still hurting my motor times and i have 370 in it now with 3.70 rear gear.

Yes, the glide would be better with a lower gear, but I really like a glide. I drive my car a lot ,so I do not want lower gears. I am hoping for a 6.90 with a healthy tranny, and a 150 shot. What are ya'll setting your rev limiter at on a stockish 5.3?

I like the glides too. You will get at least 6.90's out of it. I think i had mine set at 7200. My 2 step was set at 4500 off the trans brake. I never ran my 5.3 on motor. I put it in on a friday, raced it saturday and pulled it back out sunday. That was a fun weekend.

Ran a 8.20 with a 1.8 60' last friday shifting at 5500, still has a little more in it. The factory trac lock has started slipping, only got the car to hook twice. Saving for axles and spool, going to try to knock off another tenth or two with some fine tuning!

3.73's and really I need at least a 4.10 as I'm crossing the traps at 6200 in 3rd on the 200 shot. On motor I'm going through at like 5700. Yes I have a trans brake.

Wide band oxygen sensor, the kits allow you to monitor the air and fuel mixture for accurate tuning. The pills that come with the box are just a initial tune, use a lap top to dial in better timing and up the rev limiter to 6000.
