before the transmission failure this summer, i had intended to address the rearend issues as i knew it could be problematic at this level. i am already starting to see a slight amount of twist on the 31 spline axles. the intention was to get it all set up for a 40 spline gun drilled setup with a nice aftermarket case. this is slingshotting that to the forefront, and now it's all gotta be taken care of. here's the plan:

-buy strange pro iron case and fit with existing spool using the conversion bearings (for 28/31/33 spline spool in the big case)
-refit my old 4.56's using my current pinion support and pinion yoke
-get back to the track 1 more time before the season ends

this winter, i'll be doing:
-40 spline gun drilled mark williams axles
-light weight steel mark williams spool
-35 spline pinion yoke stuff
-new strange rear brakes.

all of that stuff is pricey, and way outside of what i can afford, but i'm going to hunker down and get some sidework going to get it all taken care of. next season the driveline will be indestructible.

i'm also looking at making a move on the clutch. i'm thinking of going to something that allows some slippage during engagement, but sticking with the diaphragm type setup since the other upgrades will make a true slipper unobtainable for next season.

Hate to see you have issues this soon Matt, but I am glad to hear of the new PB and that the trans is working like a charm!

Hope to see you back rowing gears before the year is over!

Matt, I'm with you on bulletproof building.
When I did my 12 bolt with all Moser stuff...guy quoted me a price on a spool and axles w/ eliminators ...said didn't matter if I wanted 31's, 35's or 40's. I went 35's since I had a better choice on spools
But....I have an auto and not near the stress of a manual.

i'm dead set on some 40 spline gun-drilled axles at this point. i'm not dead set on a brand just yet. my initial thoughts were to go to a Mark Williams axle and spool setup, but i'm not sure that's totally necessary. these moser 31 splines would hold up forever if i was auto still, but with the t56, they're showing signs of slight tweakage and i'd like to proactively replace them before something happens. i like the price tag on the moser's a bit better too. strange's website hasn't worked for 2 days now. once i am able to get back on their site, i'm gonna compare the pricing and options of all 3 and make a decision.

Be sure to look around.....as I'm sure you know.
I found a place on RacingJunk.com and no one could beat their price....I think he was out of Kentucky ?
See if I can find my receipts.

EDIT:
Couldn't find in folder
So, I look on RJ to see if any name rings a bell, and find...

lol, what am i gonna do with that? stock suspension FTW! anyway, i will keep an eye out for stuff, but it's pretty specific. i do have a set of pro gears hammered down locally, just gotta go get them when i get some freed up cash. I got a deal on a strange 9" case and am working towards getting my list for the winter upgrades straight.

anyway....i forgot about this video. stumbled upon it. round 1 win, 10.422 on a 10.42 dial
